After seeing the shirt image, which is pretty cool, I think you need something different for it.
Instead of a "real" crown, I'd go for a jester/buffoon crown. They used to wear these skullcaps with some fluffy "horns" and a jingle bell at the end of each horn. First they started as extra deco on their costumes, but they ended being a satire/parody of the crowns of royalty. Some search will give you a realistic one (maybe the first one I linked) which you can cut, colour and put on your head.
PanTsour approach is also pretty great looking, with that spiked crown.
