Are you interested in a RWBY game?
Yeah, the fact the gameplay is inspired by Dynasty Warriors doesn't have me too hopeful. I remember playing that back around when the PS3 first came out. It was like the pinnacle of brainless mindnumbing button bashing hack n slash. Hopefully they haven't taken too much from it. Not that there's much to take...

Ohhhh mehhhh gaaaaawd!
This is one of the rare times I hit the "Yes" button on Greenlight.

Sure, looks decent enough.
I'll probably stay away from it, as im not interested in anything that plays like Dynasty Warriors

Amen. I really hope they didn't try to revolve too much around that game as its source, I couldn't put up with it for more than 30 minutes. They do claim to have a story campaign which is already more than I can credit DW having any resemblance of, so fingers crossed.

Also don't forget that season three will be out soon! I'm so hyped for that one, too!

As I am, indeed! I hope it will be good. Without Monty Oum on the team, it may affect the series a lot... I'm still glad to see that they will continue the series anyways. I guess that this is what Monty would have wanted. RIP you glorious person. :(

Yeah I know.. yet I'm confident that it will be great nonetheless; at least I hope so.
Exactly, Monty would have wanted them to keep going. To be honest, I'm still not completely over the fact that he died so early.. :/

Monty was a pretty hard worker, so it's possible he already had scripts prepared for S3, or at least concepts. Beyond that, he already had the majority of the entire structure of the series under wraps like character design, modelling and animation style, so I'm sure Rooster Teeth won't have any issues blending his style seamlessly in to a new series.

I've been waiting for this to hit Greenlight. I hope the combat in the game will preserve the feeling of fluid badass action in the show.

I highly doubt it. Reproducing the same action you get from a movie/animation in a video game would be extremely hard, and wouldn't make the gameplay and controls just as good/accurate.
It's like those "action" trailers for MOBAs or most RPGs.

To be fair, those are much more professional developments with CGI productions. Assets for RWBY were probably developed and animated in the likes of Autodesk 3DS Max/Blender. It certainly won't be as fluid as the series but I wouldn't be surprised if certain animations were reused.

Oh, I'm confident it will be great. Just not as impressive as the actual battle scenes in the series (for example, "Red" trailer). It would probably affect the gameplay too much to be playable.
They will probably work on a perfect balance between amazing combat moves and animations and good controls/gameplay.

Wait, WHAT?! Noooooooooooooooooooo, why does EVERYTHING have to be co-op (or multiplayer) focused nowadays. I don't have any friends to play with, ffs. Even if I did, I wouldn't wanna be playing games with them because they (with very few exceptions) get in the way!
And, no, they may say that it will have single player, but when you build a game around co-op the single player portion always suffers.
Also Dynasty Warriors gameplay... So much for hopes of Devil May Cry's stylish gameplay. T.T
Well, I'm still gonna support the game and everything, because RWBY, but that's still a huge disappointment. :/

While we're waiting, have a look at the Opening Animation for season 3! :D

Came here to post the link to it but seems like you were faster. Damn.

Dang, nice to see how fast it got out of greenlight and on to the market. Has anyone had a chance to genuinely play it yet? The highest rated review for the game right now shows the sad state of Steam reviews. Despite how well the reviews are doing so far, it's hard to give them any credibility when people think the best review was from a guy with 0.1 hours played saying
I want to preface this review with a tag that I am only recommending (Thumbs up) this game based on the fanboy that I am

I'm bringing this thread back because why the hell not. Also because I might be planning something :P
Also, have you read more reviews by now? All I can say is that it is a pretty neat game, it's just obviously not finished yet. Right now, there's only one campain that lasts like.. an hours or so. New levels will come some time in March, though. 15 bucks for an early access game isn't really cheap (and considered the current state of the game, it's way too much) but since there's new stuff coming soon, I think it'll be a cool game once it's finished.

Haven't really gotten a chance to follow it lately since some friends got me caught up in Blade & Soul, but just having a quick glance, it's certainly not to be ignored that it's still sustaining 94% while at 4k reviews. It does seem to be coming along nicely considering it's still in Early Access and getting reasonable updates. I'd definitely be tempted to try it out if I could convince a couple friends to try it out, probably going to have to wait for a sale though.
Also I'll be damned if I could remember when/why I whitelisted you, but If I had to guess, I'd say it had something to do with all the purple.

The third season was produced after Monty passed away but it is said that he had already planned the series up to eight seasons or more. So we can safely assume that the current plot is still in line with Monty's original vision although there may be some minor changes (less storywise more how the story and the fights are portraited).

Following the success of Monty Oum's animation "RWBY" alongside Rooster Teeth, a game is now in the works due to be released for Steam and currently on greenlight.

Game Trailer
Personally, I originally got pretty excited by the series upon viewing the teaser trailer before any content had been released. The compositions by Jeff Williams, the red and black character design of Ruby, gothic lolita style dress and scythe weapon made it exactly my forte. It made it out to be a lot more serious/dark/action+thriller than it actually ended up being. In the end, it was a lot more bubbly and bouncey than I've any particular interest in.
You may recognise Monty Oum from his other work like I did which is how I came across the series. Before going professional, he solo worked on the Dead Fantasy series which had incredibly thorough animated combat for its time for amateur work. This lead to him getting the attention of Rooster Teeth where he did animation work on the series Red vs. Blue before going on to create his own series, RWBY. Unfortunately he passed away on February 1st 2015, but I believe RT will be taking over the series and continuing its legacy.
While the game does seem to resemble a relatively generic hack and slash, at least it'll be a chance to mess around with some of the character designs in a more serious setting than the series.
