it does exist somewhere else. I'm pretty sure that only matters if the person who made the giveaway (me) actually reports invalid entries.

You won't be able to differentiate between actual cheaters and people who have entered through the link then. Unless there's a way I'm not aware of.

It's kind of true. The one user who did find the link where I dropped it did find it (I saw them enter the giveaway of where I dropped it, but I have a really high feeling the same user actually 'leaked' it to their friend because of the 3-day difference for joining and the same user is on their friends list joined it 3 days later.
no real way to prove it, but it wouldn't surprise me if the user did do that since people can play dumb and say "oh, I found it"

Weird. Well, Poi has 7 hours but only 5 joined for it. More people joined for games where I made dumb rules elsewhere. Small chance for exposure. Maybe 100 wins was too much.
