I don't understand why it is fun to randomly try every other object on random places. Most solutions don't even make sense. What am I missing? Maybe I played the wrong ones, do you have any recommendations that are not so hard?

I don't think I played any classic point and click games. I heard some are really good, like Sanitarium? Most of the ones I played are from Daedelic.

I guess I need to make a giveaway for a point and click game now, here is Chronicle of Innsmouth. It looks like it's only for hardcore point and click fans, definitely not for me.

Good luck!

EDIT: I'm being blacklisted because I don't like point and click games, bring it on people! I also hate Denuvo, Kanye West sucks, Hitler did nothing wrong and Barbie rocks! I must also say I don't like to go out and drink all night, blacklists pls?

Thanks a lot for your replies, I started playing Anna's Quest and I'll continue with other recommendations.

Do you also think most of the point of click games just suck and copies of each other?

I would rather point and potato

I enjoy point&click adventures if they're well done. Things like illogical puzzles, puzzles that require trial-and-error approach and the need to hunt for pixels can kill the game pretty quickly.

Thanks for Innsmouth, as a somewhat-fan of Lovecraft I'm pretty curious about this game :)

You should try LOOM. It's a classic, and doesn't really suffer from the infamous "gag logic" that plagues many games (though it is a humorous one at times).

I pretty much feel the same as you. I won a Daedalic Bundle a while back and I've been trying to push through the games ever since.
I really liked some of them like Night Of The Rabbit, Harveys New Eyes, and Chains of Satinav. But I still need to use a walkthrough throughout all the games because its too hard for me :P

I tend to avoid point and click because I hate the puzzles, but I do love the story and art that goes along to a lot of them :)
Edit: I forgot about Fran Bow. It has super easy solutions and it's such a great game. A must play for point and click beginners

I love point and click games. I still have a lot more to play, but these are the ones I enjoyed the most. They are roughly in order with the best on top. Also, I may be forgetting some older ones that I don't own on Steam.

The Longest Journey
The Cat Lady
The Whispered World
Torin's Passage (I may be a bit biased from the Nostalgia. This is one of the first point and clicks I ever played, might be the first)
Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes
Machinarium
Harvester
Anna's Quest
Still Life
Syberia 1&2
Alum
Dropsy
Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh
Phantasmagoria
The Charnel House Trilogy

While I love the genre myself, I can't think of any games that would convert someone that doesn't enjoy the genre. Like any genre of game, they are not for everyone.

I've played several over the years (from Maniac Mansion, Mindshadow, Tass Times In Tonetown, all on the C64), to the King's Quest series on PC. They can be frustrating at times, but I've always enjoyed them.

Thank you for the giveaway.:)

Syberia 2 has pretty easy puzzle and simple gameplay. Syberia 1 can be very tedious for all the walking & going up and down the stairs.

well, for me, mostly, the story is usually great. and the solution can be a pain, but it has a reference point to the story... i almost always get stuck and follow some solution, but only for that point...

It's also great fun to play these games with a group, with everyone guessing what might solve the next puzzle. Maybe it would be more enjoyable to you this way?

Monkey Island is still one of the best in my, perhaps biased, opinion.

I recently played Bulb Boy. It was quite fun.

You should try playing hidden-object games. They are a lot better in my opinion.

Try MYST. I fell in love with the series and the feeling that world gave me.
The first one has a remake that's really good - realMyst: Masterpiece Edition.
I haven't replayed the rest recently, but I don't think they aged very well :)

There are so many good Point&Click adventures. If you're afraid of the S.C.U.M.M. bar you should try out Daedalic games like The Night of the Rabbit or even some indie games like The Little Acre. Old school games and pixel art games tend to use that kind of action bar because of nostalgic reasons.
I prefer those where I can actually see my character walking around, so the Myst series are something I actually wouldn't like to play.

Does the Myst series count as Adventures ? I can see some similarities but I consider them more of a minigame collection.

I'm not even sure. I played them once and it's more like a puzzle game, but the store counts them as adventure game.

Well, Steam store is not to be trusted when it comes to tags :D They tag Gods Will Be Watching as Point and Click + Adventure which could not be further from the truth since it's actually a stress management game.

And don't even get me started on Illuminati, Meme or Dating Sim tags :D

Deponia is indeed sometimes a bit... difficult when it comes to solutions, but "The Book of Unwritten Tales" is rather easy the solutions are usually quite logical and the humour is great ^.^ It's a game I would even recommend to those that usually aren't too fond of point and click adventures.

If you don't like the typical adventure game logic, then yes, it may not be for you. There are only a handful of games that try to remain logical and you may try. What I can think of…
Cognition: An Erica Reed Story; Dominique Pamplemousse, Raven: Legacy of the Master Thief, Morphopolis, Samaritan Paradox, Shadows on the Vatican games; or, as a hybrid game, Murdered: Soul Suspect.

for me, one of the most logical point 'n' clicks was Secret Files Tunguska. you always fill your inventory very quickly, but combining the right ones simply makes sense most of the time. so while you always have lots and lots of options, it doesn't get overwhelming. i can highly recommend this game. the story is nice as well, the characters and dialogs are well written. it's just a good game.

You should check out Thimbleweed Park if you like em oldschool (Maniac Mansion, Zak mc Kracken). .
I loved Tunguska btw.

To OP:
I can also recommend The Black Mirror. I didnt find it too hard to finish.
But I think adventure games are just not for you.... it happens. Still plenty of other styles to play.

absolutely, it's on my list of games i want to play in the near future. just have to beat some other games first.

and you're right, Black Mirror is not too hard. and it has a great story. i loved it back then. never got to play the successors, though.

well do i have a fucking good game to suggest to you, its a flash so its free and can be played wherever it is hosted!

Memohuntress!

point n click hidden object waldo craziness drug mind inducing wild trip acid bunch of words thrown together crazy earthquake here!
the art is fantastically human joker jester alice in wonderland crazy
its unlike any hidden object game i can think of, where it is 3 layers of movement and 'is the object here?;
background middleground and foreground.

i suggest this game since i've played it a bunch, and helped the creator with his other game Fearless Fantasy as a tester.
its only.. 4, 5 levels? so the game can be played in like a hour sitting. depending on how hard it takes you to find some objects.

I like point and clicks. But there are so many crappy ones that you might end up playing those.
I really liked stasis from the recent ones, also all wadjet eye games (fanboi detected)
