Why so many people are trading hats for games or $$$? Hats are so special?

Well that item in particular has risen a lot in a very short period of time. It wasn't $30 a month ago, so you didn't get a terrible deal, not a great one for sure, but could've been much worse.

Yesterday some dude sent me a trading request, he wanted my unusual hat, in the end he gave another unusual hat and 10 keys, I don't really know hat/item values for TF2, but I don't really care, got me some cool stuff.

Nah you didn't get really sharked/scammed. The noble was around $80, the little buddy $60 and the 10 keys an extra $13. But yeah, definitely don't trade the little buddy for those games, you can get more.

WOAH wait, are you telling me that hats are THAT expensive? Man, I got some money consuming hobbies, but paying 80 bucks for a virtual item sounds hardcore! Also thanks for the advice, I'll try to pump the deal, or keep the hat, I started liking the looks on it.
