Its gettin hot in here (so hot)
So take off all your clothes
I am gettin so hot, I wanna take my clothes off.

30-35c, i hate the heat on top of having all sorts of physical issues like my heart now (which is just waiting when you can go to the hospital, damn eternal waiting lists), it's not fun at all...

30-35ºC is awful, i'm sorry :( best i can manage is 25-27 absolute tops, i despise the heat! although, on the other hand, it just snowed here for the first time in 4 years or so, and the last time before that was in 2010. the weather, am i right?

have a cooling bump, and hope your heart gets its shit together and that it's nothing extremely serious :(

Yeah till about 25-27 is my range too, guessing with global warming we gonna get these extreme temperatures more.
Snow is beautiful, something we get less of too, and if it does it's usually anywhere in my country except the center where i am.

Thank you, i do have cardiomyopathy which was fine 4 years ago and you can live with and grow old with, but i am afraid i might have overstressed myself too much the last 2 years. Thankfully there is no pain. but an uncomfortable feeling particular in the mornings for some reason. Originally i had to go on august 15, but i could make it to july 10, but those 2 weeks still feel like a long wait.

Thank goodness it's not. I'm staying with family in Asia now and it's hot and humid as a jungle. I would have holed up back in Sydney if I didn't have to visit

lots of people don't know this
fans move air, but generate heat.
they help with heat dissipation and sweat evaporation when directed at person.
if your not in the room and your house is closed up they should be off
well it does feel cool leaving a fan on you all night, will increase the rooms temperature
during the summer ceiling fans should run counterclockwise to push cool air downward and the opposite in the winter. new ones have switches on them

Since i moved here i don't have a fan anymore, because of this new ventilation system it wasn't also really needed, generally it's cool enough, when it's 24c outside i still sleep with covers during the night.
But with around 30c it's too warm for those systems.

What you can do with fans, is put some bottles of water in the freezer, or ice pack, wrap those in some towels and hold them near a fan, then it will move cold.

That is a good idea. I will give it a go. Misting fans don't work well here because of the high humidity 😰

Not gonna brag but I put on a wool pullover when temperatures dropped to 25-30 Celsius in the evening during my summer vacation in the Sahara desert. It's all relative.

We expect 37-40ish here on the regular, so everywhere pretty much has air conditioning, fans, and/or whole house fans. We're lucky to have low humidity though.

Hope you get good (or at least useful) news from the doctor.

I feel your pain. I'm from Portugal and it was 43.º C today in my city - yesterday it was around 40-41sh.
Sorry to hear about your health issues - wishing you a quick recovery and hoping that it's not too serious.

It's too hot here for the faint of heart...
I've also been suffering from cardiomyopathy since 2021. I finally found an excellent cardiologist who successfully tried treatments, avoiding surgery too.
I hope things get better for you too! 🤞

BTW, thanks for the giveaway!

Can you tell me a bit about those treatments?

Well as up till 4 years ago, they let me do a routine check every 5 years, back then the doctor joked i had the heart of a young girl (i am a guy). It could remain that for the rest of my life, or i could end up with a sort of pacemaker (don't know the name in english) and bags full of medicine like my dad had, but when you have diabetes that's just another out of luck combo.

Thank you.

Apparently, it's due to myocarditis.
We've tried several treatments: bisoprolol, amiodarone, and now nadolol, combined with ramipril, to stabilize my blood pressure (but not high enough to increase the dose).

If the treatment doesn't work, the cardiologists have recommended surgery, but there's a high risk of having a stroke during surgery.

But aside from the blood pressure do you experience physical issues from it?

A high risk on a stroke, is not a gamble one wants to take, only sets a person further back. :x

These temperatures are hard.
It would be even worse with humidity. ......
I can't deny that I feel myself increasing the humidity. It's hot hot hot 💧(;゚;Θ;゚;)💦.
Hopefully your room will be drier and less hot.🌬️🏡Flip Flip((゙Q(・Θ・`;)

People should probably use breezeways to lower the temperature during the cooler hours and close windows and dehumidify with something like an air conditioner during the hotter hours.
Windows should be opened inward about 10 cm and outward about 30 cm if there are different windows on the diagonal.
Even if the outside temperature is low, indoor humidity will increase if a river or lake is nearby.
The trick to avoid increasing humidity is to reduce humidity by narrowing the air intake and exhaust vents.
If there is no air conditioner, this is fine.
If there are no windows, there is nothing you can do.
If you use a fan or circulator regularly, just exhaust it OUT side.
Huh? No fan or circulator?
No window?

... Just lay out a few sheets of newspaper before you go to bed, and when you wake up, bag it all up and take it out. The humidity will go down.🙄📰🗞️🗑️
The answer to the humidity I gave myself to the people around me was newspaper....

There is a ventilation system that lets the bad air (co2) out and let fresh air in, basically in theory you don't even have to have a window open.

But i don't have bug protection around my balcony door or windows and the amount of bugs can be massive, a few weeks ago there were about 80-100. Small annoying ones too that produces like fruit flies, but aren't those, and they will hide in every nook and gap they can find so i am not really fond of having any window open.

I want to put air curtains on my windows to keep bugs out.
Things don't go well.Cost-effectiveness is tricky.

At night, the amount of insects attracted by the light would be significantly reduced.
Putting UV-cut film on the glass would also reduce the proximity of insects, but it would not be cost-effective.

I would tear up a bunch of mint that is becoming a weed in my yard and tuck it between the window openings.
There are a variety of plants that produce scents that bugs don't like, so there may be some good ones for weeds near you.

It's hard to find an easy way to do this.
If you crumple up a newspaper and roll it around the room, pluck some herbs from the garden and hang them on the window sill, there's a slight chance you'll be called a wizard's house.🤔

It's hard to find a way to make things work out perfectly.

We don't have winters anymore, and with cold you can turn on the heating (costly though) but you can also just put on an extra sweater, with heat you can do much less especially if you have to go outside or work, and yes there is airco, but not everyone can have that luxury.

Yep, during peak hours we spend it indoors with AC or desert coolers. Summers are a terrible experience, even more so now thanks to climate change.
