Sorry, my poll sounds more like a shakespearean line.

So, my Dilemma is I have always given to anyone regardless of giving level... and, that has hurt me sometimes with people not choosing received or even having some people choose "Not Received" when the key was sent to them through steamgifts.. so, I kinda went to the extreme and now I don't give to anyone unless they have given at least 1 game and received positive feedback. Is this the correct thing to do? or, am I just being a dick and cutting out 90% of the good people who haven't given a game yet.

What do you think?
What are your rules & motto when it comes to gifting and who you gift too.

Is it better to give to people who give then give to people who do not give

Give to those who give
Give to those who do not give

All my giveaways are level 0, but I'm not giving away that much, and recently mostly did to Unlucky-7, so I can deal with the drawbacks.

My personal view is that those who deserve to win are those who haven't won much. I wish SG had such a criterion. I also think that SG could do some things to reduce the possibility of errors and need to reroll. I don't think it would ever happen, because SG is populated mostly by people who are into 'random trading' (giving to those who give) and the philosophy behind the site seems to boil to 'let's make things obtuse and error prone so we can then get angry at people not reading the FAQ'.

As to your poll, neither. Whether someone gives or doesn't give should be a very minor factor in being worthy of winning.

i rarely gift to lvl 0, but i make sure to occasionally. most of my GAs go to lvl4-7, but i'm always mixing it up and tossing other levels out there too.. xD
not to mention group/private/whitelist..

There's no absolute answer to that. I get your concern, for my part I try to mix between different types of GAs. From time to time I make a public GA in the hope it goes to a new user, but I'm always sad to see many entries in 10 minutes by people who gave nothing or close, and won dozens or hundred of games (auto-entry scripts, likely). This is why, out of the groups I'm member of, I do mostly private GAs through the forum with some measures to make things harder for scripts. Sometimes with a (low) level restriction, sometimes with SGTools. I like the latter because it makes easy to allow both new and old users based on ratio: easy to filter the "1 sent 50 wins" while still letting the "0 sent 0 win" enter. To make it short, I'm not targeting the people who give (well, in my whitelist maybe !) to enter, but the opposite: stopping the people who just take.
Anyway, everyone is different, and whatever you choose to do, there will be people to like and other to dislike. Just keep gaming and making people happy by gifting them games, that's all :)

I allways choose min. Level 1, because then I can be sure my winner knows how steamgift.com works.
