Most of my steam 'friends' are from trades and old gifts. I rarely chat and through this feature I found a lot who don't use SG, so it's actually reduced my friends as I deleted them! :D

That's a suspiciously long time. I looked into it and the Steam API is returning 0 for those user dates. I'm not sure why that's the case, but if you've been friends for over a decade, maybe Steam didn't log the data back then. Either way, I updated the page, so those users will not show a date, and they'll be displayed at the end of the friend list.

i just check and i got this weird info https://imgur.com/a/cSVznBw on steam, maybe add a timelimit since 2004? when steam was on so that doesnt happen

Hey everyone,
A small update to the site today based on a couple of user requests. On the account page, under the Steam category in the left column, you'll see a button to the new friends page. Keep in mind, before anything appears on that page, you'll need to sync your account.
The page will list any of your Steam friends that are registered on SteamGifts. It's sorted by how long you have been friends on Steam, and it includes a quick shortcut to add or remove those users to your whitelist. That's it. Hopefully it'll help you connect with your Steam friends in our community!
