Starvoid giveaway explosion

A number of giveaways have sprung up in the last half hour...

Is it on sale somewhere (isthereanydeal.com says not), or is there some other reason behind the glut? Nothing obvious on google, and no threads here yet, but if I'm being stupid, please do what is necessary...

basically yes... but Starvoid is not in beta and Starvoid is not free to play... also people received only one giftable copy, not two

The problem and also very likely the reason for the free copies is, that the game was dead from the beginning. There are no bots and you need human players to play against - the servers were always empty when I checked so it was not playable...

...hopefully the explosion of Starvoids will help to reanimate the game but I seriously doubt it - creating bots would have been the way to go.

Thanks for the info.

I was considering buying this, but don't really want to part with $10 if the game is dying on its feet. Looks kind of fun, but it doesn't really sound worth the risk :)

I would definitely not spend any cash on it - I guess there will just be a little flame and the game will die again - there is too much wrong and as far as I can see they have not changed anything about it.

The major issue is I could never play it really as there was nobody to fight against - I never had the chance to spot any more problems.

The game isn't dying, it is dead. I could only play it one time and there it was laggy and not playable.

I sure hope so as it isn't a bad game but dead because there are too few players out there.

I won this game a while ago and also have a spare copy - I will give it away and hope to have somebody to play it with.

Does it really matter? If more people have more points it rather decreases than increase your chance of winning a giveaway - My chances so far are around 1:1500 and the only thing I won was this dead game ;) - But I won't complain - The lottery-part is for me the fun part and without steamgifts.com I would probably never have found deals like the indie bundles.

To me it does. I can join more group and contributor giveaways. Besides that, i don't join many "normal" giveaways, so yeh my chance actually slightly increases.
I just won 2 games within 2 days thanks to increased points income from those amazon deals and alike :3
