I have a feeling that is something very recent and that I'll kick myself later...
Fallout 4?

Just a quick bump for leaderboard update & reminder to vote in the poll if you haven't already (poll closing date added):
Should the 24-hour no reply rule be changed to 12 hours to speed up the pace of the game?
Or should it stay 24-hours to give people time to sleep/work/eat + timezone differences?

Probably, one of the race levels. I love that game.

It's Disney's Hercules alright, but it's far from being a PS exclusive (had it on PC personally).

Maybe, didn't know it existed at all, it just looked like Phil was in it, playstation/n64 graphics.
First looked at n64 hercules, but that one is from the tv show.

Yeah, I deleted the image to work on another one, not google searchable. It's up now.

Wrong. But unfortunately I have to accept it as all the King's Bounty games are graphically so similar (sigh, wish I had gotten a more distinctive shot...oh well). It was actually: The Legend.
Anyways -> Your Turn

If you ended up cutting from the screenshot that guy on a horse, it would've been more difficult :P

Wasn't meant to be more difficult. I would have like to make it more The Legend rather than the other titles in the series.

I've got extra images & some hints ready for this abomination...

Only one P&C comes to my mind in medieval/phantasy theme...
Is it Quest for Infamy?

I'm actually really curious to know what this is.
My thought process is basically stuck like this:
So it's a medieval game with lots of climbing. Why would there be climbing? Well to steal stuff. So Thief....which this is definitely not.
I'm utterly clueless and really curious.

Shadows of Cairn
Still needed to go to the 4th page of of Google to find it XD

I guess it's Wolfenstein: The New Order, but it doesn't count, because it's SCHUMI4EVER's turn to post a new screenshot now.
Sorry for even trying to guess that one (I used the phone browser and forgot to check the results of a previous quiz).

Let's try something a bit different.
This is a heavily blown up ripped sprite that should be instantly recognisable to many.
I'm appalled that you people need hints. This is far from an obscure game, even if that of a certain plumber was perhaps far more prominent (not that this is a platformer). And yes, you can consider that hint 1 (though technically I had already given you a hint, but I'll clarify that for the next hint)
Ok so as mentioned I was going to explain a prior hint. That being that the sprite is heavily blown up. That means one of two things. Either this is handheld title on a smaller screen. Or it's really rather old.
Let's go with the the latter.
Hint No3. (this is 18 hours in so don't you dare start a new one because it's been 24 hours with no responses)
This game isn't about devils. It's technically about a bunch of animals, but mostly hedgehogs. The devil is a taunt you can invoke (there's actually a couple of them, including one where you get mooned)

Drawing a blank here personally... but bumping the thread for exposure to try to get more people guessing as it seems it should be pretty iconic and now I'm super curious what it is... :)
Also, as a side note, when adding hints or editing info it may be better to make a new nested post to both bump the thread as well as make a timestamp so people know when P1 has made an update. So to keep it unambiguous, this post counts as an update/edit to the screenshot that SCHUMI4EVER has posted and it is active for at least 24 hours from the time of this post and again for any subsequent posts or updates/edits.

YES! (that really took far too long XD)
Your turn :)

Ah, nice! The mooning taunt got me interested. :)
I actually purchased that game a while back in a GOG sale, but haven't had a chance to play it yet. I never knew of its existence back in the day, but it does seem to have quite a nostalgia following!

Unfortunately there likely won't be any mooning going on in single player. But 2 people on the same keyboard it was always great fun hitting the Num keys on the straight when you can take a moment to relax to make this devil pop up on their part of the screen to distract them.
Used the sprite sheet below. Cut out the one I wanted and then blew it up like 3 times and turned into a jpg to make give it a solid white background.

There's a spiritual successor on Steam as well but as far as I know the devils aren't in that yet. Devil-butt in your face in online multiplayer sounds fantastic though, so here's hoping.
Here's the old one just to give you a taste (tiny screenshot)

Heh heh, this sounds perfect to corrupt my kids with -- they're the perfect age for breaking into hysterical laughter over devil butt distractions. I think they're going to have a blast trying this out together and building a new generation of nostalgic feelings for the game. XD

Ah those memories. Playing the 2-player combat mode and running out of ammo desperately looking for another hedgehog but the match has been going for a while so most are gone.
Actually ended a few on a draw because we were both out of ammo and all the hedgehogs were gone.

I guess this thread has reached a new level of obscurity. :/

Betrayer maybe ?
probably not though, as in-game imagery doesn't look anything at all like the red & skeletal title card on the steam store

Saw I've been using that? :P
I like it a lot, although I haven't had any experience with other programs, so i don't know how it compares with them. I'd say it's worth the purchase. I'd recommend getting it from Itch.io though, as it comes with a drm-free version, a portable version, and a steam key.
Also, Aseprite is open source, so if you don't want to spend money, you could always build it yourself if you know how to do that sort of thing.

timezones/work are important, but if the pace will be faster, will not matter for the guessers, but the creator of the puzzle, might not have time to confirm right guess (like 6pm local time posted question, before sleep nobody solved, but during his/her let's say 8 hours sleep solved, and than bam! in the morning it is cancelled and dismissed, which I find not cool, but that's me ^_- ) Maybe compromise and 18 hours? rotlf

Some more suggestions:
How about, besides lowering the timer, always having two people post concurrently? So that if one image is solved & confirmed - the other one is still in play. Note: Two people - not one person posting two game's images. If the same person guessed both, then the other one is free for all
Make rules 3 & 4 more clear - P1 confirms the answer (if not 100% certain) / P2 posts the next game screenshot - encourage people to simply post proof & post their new image without having to wait for confirmation for a day. (this isn't ideal, as even I couldn't find sufficient proof for Splinter Cell on this very page, but when it's possible, the entire waiting time is nullified)

Interesting suggestion -- however one concern I have is that it may increase confusion for newcomers (thinking they can just post screenshots without solving) and make the thread a little messier to navigate to see which posts are active. If one game gets solved quickly, and subsequent games get solved quickly after that, the unsolved one might still be active but buried on a previous page somewhere.

Yes, I think maybe rephrasing this one might work better -- I don't think proof needs to be given if a guesser is reasonably sure they are correct -- so far there haven't been issues with people guessing wrong but thinking they were correct and posting a new screenshot despite their incorrect guess so I think encouraging people to post their screenshots after a reasonably sure guess would work well.

The changed iteration isn't really much different than the previous one.
There's still no incentive to move the game forward in a timely fashion as opposed to the current "throw game names in the air & maybe check back in a day" mentality.
About the proof part - most people wont bother checking, or won't have time to check, if someone who posted a new image has guessed the previous one correctly, which will lead to other issues. So, IMHO, if you can prove it - do so (and please - move on with the game), if you can't... just wait for confirmation (you can still prep a new image though).
About the concurrent entries - whoever makes the newest entry can link the other entry in their post as still being active (in other words: there's the most recent entry, plus the one it links to).

I tend to agree, but it's worth a shot and it's something that at least half of the people participating in the thread seem to want. So we'll try it out and if people start getting skipped too frequently then maybe we'll change it back. Generally speaking, the format of this game is more of a marathon than a sprint -- I think it's sort of the nature of things due to the nature of playing a game like this on a forum as opposed to being able to code something more specifically geared towards upping the pace.

It's a good idea, but I think too complicated and could potentially cause casuals/lurkers/newcomers from participating. I think this thread is already a little intimidating to some (don't know formatting, have less experience with obscure games), so keeping it simpler is probably best to encourage participation for now.

Ah, too late. The fleur-de-lis and the purple were dead giveaways for Saints Row, and the devils in the background strongly suggested Gat but I didn't think you'd post the same game twice in a row... well played!
