Ah. So it's a game based around a retro RPG, made by Square-Enix.
No surprise it resembles the art style of NES era Final Fantasy / Dragon Quest then ;)

Yea sorry, was a bit tricky. Resemblance to Dragon Quest is the one most clear. Looks and even sounds almost the same.
By the way it's a game I absolutely recommend to people who own a DS. Very creepy and unique. : )

EDIT: This isn't a real hint but I just want to clarify that this picture does reflect in some way a piece of the lore in this game.
HINT 1: This building was destroyed due to a war between two races. The invaders won the battle and took over the city... yet the invaded are still in the areas around.

This building is the result between the fight between Charr and Humans, the Charr won and they took over the Black Citadel. The Humans are still in this area as ghosts, haunting this place and making it hard for the Charr to stay around. This picture was taken in the Charr's Level 1-15 area.
