What's the best thing about Australia? (amongst the answers here)
I'd rather have spiders than have creatures like bears and cougars.

We've damn near wiped out bears and cougars, and the ones still around can be avoided with some basic safety tips. You can't scare off spiders in your boots by singing though

Enjoy your trip and be careful of the wild life in there ;)

Hopefully the weather is ok in the part of Australia you're visiting. I'm down in South Australia and we've been getting a few really rainy days here.
I hear our coffee is really good, I wouldn't know because I don't drink it :P
Also don't worry about our wildlife, they aren't THAT dangerous as long as you live them alone ;)

If the fauna and flora won't kill you, the heat will. Or Mick Taylor.

a Redback? I am Australian and have never seen one. My grandmother had an outside toilet when I was growing up. We had to take a brush with us when we went just to make sure there were none lurking around the seat. Whitetails are what are bothersome at the moment :(

I had a chat to someone from Japan who is coming to Australia (New South Wales) in September and he was worried about spiders. Am sure once you are here you will not give them much thought. They are small and usually not even seen by us. Focus on the sights, people and food you will experience :) You will have a great time.
