Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons
Guacamelee! Gold Edition
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Obscure - Actually, I'm just assuming with this one, based on the PS2 version I own. Best to look it up.

Obscure is local co-op. I've played it with a friend of mine. It is a shame there aren't many survival horror co-op games in that style. And Guacemelee is also a nice local co-op game.
As for others I would add Hammerwatch (story mode, up to 4 players) and Dead Pixels (story mode, 2 players) and maybe Adventures of Shuggy (only for bonus co-op levels) and Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet (only for bonus co-op levels).

Good to know the PC version still supports it. Obscure was pretty great, and its a damn shame the second was such a failure in comparison.

Never played it on PS2. But I have to say i was impressed by the game and its Steam Version. I am a fan of the classic RE games so a co-op survival game sounded very tempting and the Steam Version had also achievements which is rare for older games. As achievement hunter this was a sure buy and did not regret it. The only thing people critizised have been missing wide screen support and that the intro song changed.
I thought about buying Obscure 2 but I have read in different threads that it is "different". And in comparison to RE 1 - CVX I have to say the puzzles made actually sense.

Brothers, while an amazing game, is a singleplayer co-op which is not lysergic is looking for, I assume.
I guess two people can play it by holding single controller and it will be somewhat romantic but at the same time uncomfortable. If you decide to try this anyway better ignore game's requirement and play with keyboard.

I just remember a forum topic talking about doing that. I assumed it was similar to The Adventures of Cookie and Cream for PS2, which has single player in the same style, but also co-op on two controllers. I don't have friends to try this myself.

Castle Crashers,Partal 2, Guacamele!, and Broforce are really fun.
Nidhogg is amazing (I know it isn't Co-Op, but it is the most fun local multiplayer game I've ever played)
You can also play Don't Starve with a mod for local Co-Op (It will be included in the Vanilla sometime this summer)

I think you may like Deathspank or Dungeon Siege III.
And most fun personally I had with local co-op in newer games is Resident Evil 6.
