EDIT: I'm not sure how you'd classify underrated titles, and I'm sure this won't count, but I love Binding of Isaac. Dust: An Elysian Tail might also count towards this, as it was developed by a one man "team" even though Microsoft published it.

For me, Underrated = Low Metascore

For me, Underrated = Good Metascore, but people rarely buy it/don't know it's even exist.

Defender's Quest
second-best Tower Defense game ever made
(I have 337 hours on DG, but DQ is creeping up there now at 44 -- the New Game+ is really nicely done and adds a lot more backstory to things)

I totally agree but I don't think it is underrated though.

Fucking Cart Life. Amazing Indie Game, definitely deserved the Seuamas McNally Grand Prize at IGF 2013. It's free, but the $5 version (Which is $2 during the sale) on Steam gets ya more vendors and stuff to do, kinda like a DLC.

This one looked really interesting, but one glance at the forums made me take it straight out of my Steam cart and spend the next five minutes soaking my mouse hand in bleach.

The forums are awash with disgruntled buyers, and peppered with regular barrages of posts from the developer who does nothing to fix the bugs, but leaves no stone unturned when it comes to smugly wagging a middle finger at his customers.

Not cool.

It got on Steam's front page and Top Seller's list. Is that really "Underrated"?

Yes, as I said before I don't see anyone talking about it.

Guns of Icarus Online. It's one of the best multiplayer games I've ever played. Amazing community, very good execution, and airships are cool.

I love Magicka and consider it to be somewhat under appreciated, but it is kinda buggy at times.

very buggy at times, but I love it anyway. It's fun enough to make up for it.

Eufloria, the mod support adds a lot to the game, some of the user created levels are awesome and have lots of replay value. The new Eufloria HD looks pretty good too but I haven't tried it yet :)

HD took a lot of features out, unfortunately.

But they added a lot of other features too, so I guess it's a wash.

Starship Unlimited: Divided Galaxy . I played this long times ago. It's not on Steam but is a funny strategy games on space. Very unique combat system (starship move when they attack each other like chess, gain experience by combat and they learn new manouvre). it's not to hard to master but i think is hard to find now.

Not sure if its underrated or not but Recettear: An Item Shops Tale is pretty fun.

La Mulana can get frustrating with its "puzzles". I gave up on it since it was too vague.

Vague? dude what are you talking about, if you pay attention you will have everything you need to know to solve the puzzles at your finger tips.

Fly'N is a pretty good one, the platforming in it can get frustrating but it looks pretty with a nice soundtrack.

Oh its 75% now too at $2.49

There are lots of those, but what's sad are those indie games no one knows about. A lot of indie games just fly under the radar because of bad or no marketing/advertising -- sometimes people don't even talk about the indie games they like. That's why you should Spread the love.

I'm sorry for the hijack, I thought it was relevant.
