I have 2 Choices for HDD.
In General I need a Large Storage Capacity and Affordability so SSD is out of the Question and I'm comfortable with the SSD I have atm.
The purpose is for Storage and Light Gaming like Old JRPG, Emulators and Old Games so Loadings are not an issue. Also storing Videos.......
I've been gaming with Blue WD HDD until I replaced them with SSD so that's also a reason why I decided to get a HDD over SSD. Can't kill old Habits when you lived during the HDD Era.
Im still not that knowledgeable between the MBPS, MB/s and RPM.

The 2 Choices I have are as Listed.
Choice 1: WD Black 5TB but it's listed having up to 130MB/s.
Choice 2: Transcend StoreJet HDD 4TB but it's listed having up to 5400rpm.

Edit: Thank you all for the Feedback :) Seems you have pushed me in a Good Advisable way to find a 7200RPM Black WD thus a 3rd Choice Unforeseen and I found it. Its an External alright but it needs it's own Power Source.

Im still not that knowledgeable between the MBPS, MB/s and RPM.

Okay, let me see if I can help with that.

HDDs, all of them, are really freaking slow, full stop. The best speeds you will get from a HDD are in linear reading at the outermost areas, but quite honestly even that is pretty damn meh. That's usually where the MB/s readings will come from, and they're often merely theoretical rather than measured. More importantly, you will never do that operation (linear reading at the outermost areas) in real life; in practical usage, speeds tank all the time, not only because you're not only operating on fast areas but largely also because of the need to seek, which is a very slow operation (the slowest operation by far). Incidentally, SSDs do not seek; that is not a concept for them. Anyway, to skip to the conclusion on this, don't be taken by MB/s (or MBPS) numbers; they're largely a marketing maneuver without practical meaning.

The one thing that can make all that better is faster rotation speeds. Generally speaking, all speeds (including read/write and seek) will depend on rotation speeds. In the old days, you could find drives with much faster rotations (10000 RPM and more), but they died down as drives got denser, because it's a tradeoff; you need to make the drives run slower to fit more data. Today, you can find large 7200 RPM drives, and they will be faster, but also more expensive. If you are looking at affordable drives, you're unlikely to want to spend the 7200 RPM premium; that leaves 5400 RPM as the only choice.

Now, to check your options...

At a glance, the 130 MB/s measure, however nonsensical it might be in practice, seems to imply that that Black is 5400 RPM, so both drives should be about the same speed, more or less. Blacks are historically good drives, but those things change, so somebody else who has more up to date information might correct me on this. They tend to be fairly durable, unlike modern Blues, which tend to die very fast thanks to some "features" that are not designed for long drive life, and durability is very important when it comes to where your data is. Of course, durable drives are not a good reason to not backup, but at least more durable drives are less likely to die tomorrow. So, unless someone else corrects me on their durability, I'd say Blacks are good drives. As for your other option, I've never heard of Transcend before; I'm a bit out of the loop, so maybe they're good and I just haven't heard, but personally I'm not willing to trust an unknown brand when it comes to storage. Again, if someone else says otherwise, maybe it's just that I've not been checking. And if they're at the same price point, the extra space is also a point in favor of the WD Black.

That said, check that neither drive is refurbished. Refurbished hardware is hardware that had issues, but was fixed and is being resold. It's not new and it has a history of problems. Refurbished does not mean bad, and it's often as good as new, but I would think twice before buying refurbished for storage, specifically, because of the extra risk.

I'd get the Western digital, you have a lot of games. Like games buying HDD on sale is almost a must as well imo.

Load time does not matter much for me unless it is a PVP scenario, where for example porting/spawning is important to do almost instantly. In this case you hopefully can put a few multiplayer games you play all the time on an SSD.

Yeah, online games or very big games like Open World I put them on the SSD while games that aren't important on such I would put them on the HDD. Thx for Looking into my Profile to help make a Decision :)

I dunno much about Transcend stuff, but WD HDDs are great. I swear I have 2 WD Blues of 500GB, they have been working for 10 years now, 24/7, and they still have the same speed as the day I bought them, not to mention reliability, and I still use them for active gaming for the games that aren`t too much dependent of SSD.

So I would suggest go with WD Black.

Thx for the Input :) but keep in mind this one is the External WD Black and not the Internal of the WD Blue ones or the Convert them into External.

Why have you limited yourself to an external drive?

If internal is available I would recommend a WD Red, the Red Pro is better than the Red Plus but if it is still within your budget get the Pro, more reliable and will likely last longer.

Because Internal slots are full so I have to go External and my Local Store all the biggest HDD Drive are External. Internal all SSD but small Storage Capacity. So best Option is a Blue or Black type of Drives.
If I recall, isn't Red Slower even to a Blue because it's for Office Uses?

Yeah Wd Blue is faster than WD red for gaming etc.
The Wd Red is better for opening the browser and files for server hosting ,because its quick at the first step, opening ,but sacrificing your cache or space for 0.1s on a task that wouldnt bother you anyway, you could probably save more time when using a browser thats not filled with cache -

Everyone always tells me this but I have been using WD Reds since about a year after they came out and have nothing but praise for them.

First few years I used them I had 3 WD Blues die while 1 WD Red was okay, in the end I got rid of the WD Red because of the storage limit ... it was still working when I retired it. One of my WD Reds is actually 8 years old and still running, haven't had a WD Red fail on me yet!

In the last few years I have had WD Reds for all HDD purposes. Games installed on WD Red run fine, in fact the wait time isn't really that bad, it isn't the same as an SSD of course but I don't suffer any lag during gameplay and loading screens are pretty quick except for GTA Online.

Of course experience will let you choose your branding.
i dont intent to change your preference, but from the base stats and how it operates its not made for gaming..
I had alot of troublee saving picture videos or family data of friends from WD red ,because how it saves data .
Alot of them choose WD red ,because of their longer guarantee of service 3y on red than 2y on blue .
I currently dont use either of them ,but you see
From experience, data&multiple cases of them dying early i couldnt recommend the red version to anybody.
There are lucky eggs everywhere i have nearly all my old hdds that are 64-500gb not one of them broke from any company.
But alot of the 1TB +version started degrading/malfunctioning earlier.
After those malfunctioning of them i actually did try to resurrect them ,i could get them going normal/degraded state while the WD red had complete components malfunctioning and usually i could only recover 70-80% of the data ... :/
FYI: im not the biggest fan of the Blue version either but i really had less struggles with it.

You didnt write the series ,but the WD black is kinda more optimized for gaming and grahic designing if i remember right.
on the side note i think all WD blacks nowadays have 7200RPM and are much faster than the other one with 5400.On top of that the wd black has more space.
Aslong the HDD holds long enough if they are in the same price range ,there is no reason why you shouldnt go for black .

Yeah, in the end I had to push a wee bit on my Budget and found the 7200RPM over the 5400RPM of the Black WD albeit it cost me another Power Slot and its a BIG Black WD External

if your buying hdd, always go for a 7200rpm hdd.. 5400rpm is slow and 7200rpm does not feel slow..

trust me i know coz i currently have a 2tb wd black, 2tb seagate firecuda, and 16tb seagate exos.... and all are 7200rpm hdd's...

if affordability is your main concern i highly recommend the firecuda(unfortunately its only 2tb max) and i've gotten it on sale for $60...

Sadly the Firecuda does not exist in Asia even at any Local Tech Store :( But I had to take your advice for the 7200RPM and I;ve found it. Pricer compare to the previous WD Black I mention.
