So, did you blacklist me yet?
So why is it OK to solicit being on blacklists but not whitelists? Seems like a double standard to me. Especially once one got past the title and actually read what the other thread was about. There was no reason to close it IMO. I've seen far worse posts made here that went unscathed.

Well, because WLs grant access to giveaways, whereas BLs prevent exactly that.
So when you're asking to be whitelisted, you are basically begging for better chances at winning games whereas if you ask to be blacklisted, you'll only hurt yourself in the long run because you'll only be able to enter fewer giveaways.

Well... I would argue that complaining about something and begging per se are two different things but I see your point.

I mean, a certain portion of users get upset about not being able to beg for whitelists, but then turn around and bitch about how blacklists ruin the site, are terrible, and are only used by terrible people with terrible judgement who have no right to control their own giveaways (who do they think they even are!).. while enthusing over whitelists (and publicly making a big deal over who they whitelist) despite the two lists being almost identical at a fundamental level, and differing only by individual usage.
It's a face-palming -desking bit of inconsistency, entitlement, and disdain for others, wrapped up in loads of unwarranted hostility.
Which all feels like a very familiar metaphor for the Anti-LGBT or Anti-Muslim or Anti-WhateverIsBeingHatedOnToday movements. >.>;

Again, I still think those are two separate issues that you can't really compare.
People will always find things to bitch about and be angry at, no matter what you do.

I'm.. not sure we're communicating well. I'm just remarking that attributing double-standard mentality to staff when all they're doing is applying rules separate from the matter is far less apt than applying it to how the users in question actually do treat whitelist and blacklist differently, even in situations where they ought be considered identically.
I'm not trying to make any statement past 'attributing staff with having a double-standard on the matter is absurd, especially in overall context'.

Probably because we aren't, haha. I've got to read your comments at least three times to actually understand what you're saying, so that might be the issue. Also I'm tired. Anyway... I guess.. I guess I can agree with that, yes.

Sorry! Understanding you just needs more thinking power sometimes and my brain and me are rather lazy. No but seriously, it's most certainly simply because English isn't my first language.

Wasn't going to comment at first since I've already raided those new tombs, but then I realized we'd be raiding the old tombs.

Do it! You just might get to raid some tombs :)
(NOTE: My little whitelist game is over, but feel free to continue the discussion.)
