I heard a bunch of songs form that OST while I was in a record store, liked it without knowing what it was, at the very least it's not bad

Quiet, relaxing ones: Starbound, Trine (all three games), Talos Principle, The Elder Scrolls series (exploring tracks).
Nice ones: Blizzard games (Diablo, Starcraft, World of Warcraft).
Epic ones: Death Rally (classic), Total Annihilation.

Maybe I'm weird; I usually prefer silence. Music or TV while studying is too distracting to me.

That being said, sometimes I need music to drown out other noise in the background (people talking, etc.). For that I'll choose something with no lyrics; trance or drum & bass, something repetitive like that where the songs mostly sound similar and essentially provides white noise. :)

I also had a white noise app for Android that I used at my old job where we had 12 people in a room...

I know I didn't really answer your question, sorry

i also tend to prefer silence the thing is that i have really really heavy problems concentrating, i have attention deficit, i have been medicated for it since i was 5 and still find it hard to concentrate and i know i will end up coming to the internet to look up something and stuff so i prefer distracting myself a bit with music than totally distracting myself with anything else

Yeah, I am actually much the same way, I have been diagnosed with adult ADD, though not prescribed anything so far. I usually sleep with radio on BBC News to distract myself, otherwise I'll stay awake with my own thoughts in bed all night long.

I feel like I can concentrate better in silence, however if it's too quiet and I feel stress like I'm forcing myself to concentrate, it is only more difficult to concentrate. A tricky situation. I wish you the best! :P

Pick the genre of music you like most, make a playlist either on Youtube or on Spotify and hear that.
For instance, if you like anime, pick an anime playlist from youtube.
Like every other human, music you greatly enjoy will improve your efficiency in work/studying. I don't believe there is a "studying music" for generally everyone.

Well i have my music playlist but usually its too loud or too distracting for me to study at... for example anything i like with lyrics in it would mean i would spend half the time singing and not studying

something w/o lyrics then? i do have 1 kind of music w/o lyrics which i listen all day which helps me on studying, on being calm, having a clear mind but you won't like it.

apart from that i can only suggest the "epic music". It's not a genre itself but there are plenty of tracks which can be put in that category. I personally like it a lot, give it a try on youtube and see if it's your style.

Giacchino's soundtracks (especially TV shows) are awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UZAL8_w_uc&list=PLFDFD3D465C4BF824
Assassin's Creed OSTs are brilliant too. Venice Rooftops is a masterpiece. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6FYxxHyQKA

I'd say, Consortium, that one song from Disgaea 1 that was only in the PS2 version, Endless Legend/Space, Dungeon of the Endless for some really soft relaxing stuff, Age of Empires 2/Mythology and my personal favorites, Witcher 3 and Rise of Nations.

Oh and Harry Potter. Definitely Harry Potter.

It's pretty weird, but I can actually concentrate really well when listening to bands like Arch Enemy (Melodic Death Metal). Maybe it's because it blocks out the surrouding sounds and I really enjoy it. I can't stand listening to slow, soft music at all (at least not when studying, sometimes it's nice to listen to though).

I often hear EDM when studying. Not the big room kind of edm tho, those makes you jump instead of studying
