I wasn't going to take part this month (my life is a mess right now) but reading the event might go on a hiatus... I had to. I only had a week in which I'd be available for sure and it ends tonight, so it was now or never. I didn't think I would but... I made it! I played:
Mr. Shifty: Achievements "Dropped like a Stone"
Five Dates: Achievements "Nueva Beginnings"
Superliminal: Achievements "Wake Up"
Path of Giants: Achievements "Archaeologist"
Mind Scanners: Achievements "Mind Scanner"
Panzer Paladin: Achievements "Moral Code"
For what is worth, making the event last longer so bigger games can be played seems like a good idea to me. Whatever happens, thank you so much for all these wonderful events!

Done. Thank you for event, as always
Extending the event time seems like a great idea. In 2 months, I could calmly and without haste go through several long games accumulated from bundles с:

Thanks much for the great giveaway. If you gotta go on hiatus, would you consider having the giveaway consist of 2 copies of a $20-$30 game? Just in case we get a lot more entrants due to the extended completion time period. That could really help optimism-wise.

pretty last minute, but done:
Shady Part of Me: achievement: ME
Dark Pictures:Little Hope achievement: Full Circle
Figment: achievement: Coming Back to the Surface
Backbone:achievement: Act 5
Truberbrook:achievement: Hans Tannhauser's Final Repose
Inside (no endgame achievement, so screenshot incoming) --> I saw that you played it, but I don't want to spoil it for anybody that's curious. Screenshot should show credits, but nothing spoilery: screenshot, hopefully its enough

One option I'm thinking of is having a 2 month long event, which will allow folks to play some of the longer games, as well as get more people involved
If you still feel up to it, that'd be good. I can't participate this month due to real life issues piling up and a lot of things in limbo probably for the next couple of months as well so that would work out great for me but don't feel pressured into taking it on if you can't manage it on your end.
Your event is an awesome constant and kicks my ass into playing some of my wins every month but I realize it's a lot of work and real life comes first.

Yup, that would be great as (for an example) I struggle to fit Pathfinder into this event.
And of course Fluffster is right - rl commitments should always come first, so take your time CJ and decide what's best for you :)

Industria | September 2022 | The end is the end is the end is the end is the end: Finish INDUSTRIA | Yes, 3h | Passable walking sim... |
Forgive Me Father | September 2022 | Enlightened?: Complete the game with the Priest | Yes, 6h | I prefer this over Doom. |
Colt Canyon | April 2021 | We Did It! Rescue your partner and complete the game. | Yes, 4.5h | Not great, wouldn't recommend. |
Yes, Your Grace | July 2022 | Yes, Your Grace.: Complete the game. | Yes, 7h | Really boring and not impressive |
Ring of Pain | October 2021 | Illuminate, Eliminate or Shadow Spreads: Complete the light or dark ending | Yes, 7h | Fantastic roguelike, really enjoyed it!! |
Wargroove | August 2020 | Magnificent Martyr: Complete "An Ancient Adversary". | Yes, 19h | Fantastic game on Steam Deck, just like advance wars on the gameboy back in the day |
I think you could just leave the standard event up for 2 months, give people more time to play or even start late, might just be a boost to the participation, and also as you said give time for longer games.
Good luck with whatever's got you busy!

I get it and I got you! Not the part of giving away full priced games :) but I get this gaming "stasis" in the face of ever growing steam library. To get a game is easy and cheap fun but to play it is a challenge to the ADHD, anxiety, simple procrastination and overall unfocused way of living.

Forgive Me Father / Sep. 2022 bundle | Started on March 8th / Finished on March 11th Truth hurts | Before playing: I have beaten Project Warlock and enjoyed it, I think I can repeat it with another boomer shooter. After playing: the game have plenty of good ideas (like zombies carrying second head for replacement after your headshot) and some annoying platforming at the very end. No regrets playing, only that I was on hard difficulty and didn't get any achievements for that - a little disappointing. |
TOEM / Dec. 2022 bundle | Started on March 13th / Finished on March 14th A true completionist | Before playing:The game seems chill and you will get to the end by simply "attending". After playing: Toem reminded me simultaneously of Beyond Good and Evil and Undertale on pacifist run. The gameplay is a lot more engaging than I thought it would be. Overall: cute and competently made. |
Call of the Sea / Jun. 2022 bundle | Started on March 12th / Finished on March 13th The only thing I have now | Before playing:I hope the presumably interesting story will care me to the end. After playing: Very nice! Like Amnesia but safe and wholesome... I guess it's not like Amnesia at all. |
UnMetal / Nov. 2022 bundle | Started March 9th / Finished on March 18th You're a tough guy | Before playing: It's potentially a hard one since it all depends whether I'll be able to sync with the game's vibe. After playing: unexpectedly, gut-punchingly hard bosses on hard difficulty. Who would have thought! But I enjoyed the game in that Dark souls kinda way. Not sure I would have appreciated the game otherwise, since the humor is very corny, the controls are restrictive and nostalgia for this type of games is nonexistent for me. But still no regrets playing, for sure I'll remember the experience. |
Mafia: Definitive Edition / Jan. 2022 bundle | Started on March 18th / Finished on March 22nd A life of Crime | Before playing: I always wanted to play it, was considering buying it at full price, but once I got it from Choice, It just got stuck in my library under other "must play" titles. After playing: After almost three hours of trying I had to lower my difficulty from hard to normal, all this to complete that goddamned race. Nevertheless Mafia is one of the most cinematic games I've played. I was very impressed and hooked till the end. |
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope / Apr. 2022 bundle | Started on March 23d / Finished on March 28th Full Circle | Before playing: Never really was into interactive movie games, but I only played Heavy Rain, maybe that's why. After playing: Pleasant B-movie. In contrast to Heavy Rain the controls are more manageable and the story seems to be more resilient to bad choices and failures at QTE (I still remember how I lost two main characters in Heavy Rain and the story just fell apart). |

Shady Part of Me | February 2023 | Started: March 15th / Finished: March 20th | Me. Finish the story. | I absolutely adored playing this game. Cute art style, cute story and I like puzzle games. Loved it ^0^/ Had been meaning to play this for a while, so I am glad this made me play it. |
A Plague Tale: Innocence | August 2022 | Started: March 20th / Finished: March 23rd | Knights! Complete all chapters. | I had 3 min idle menu time in the game (old laptop that was unable to run the game). And a badge crafted but bought the cards, so no gameplay nor achievements beforehand. Loving the game so far. Good story and game looks pretty. Though the chases/hiding can be tense. And had to replay a chapter as I was an idiot and used all my materials on an upgrade and then needed them to progress in the chapter later on xD But over all absolutely loved the game though and thoroughly enjoyed playing it. |
P.S. I like this challenge. First time attempting it, but good way to play some of the games I have been meaning to play for a while :D
P.P.S I might still swap out the unstarted games. If I end up playing A Plague Tale: Innocence, I had 3 min idle menu time in the game (old laptop that was unable to run the game). And a badge crafted but bought the cards, so no gameplay nor achievements beforehand.

Gonna try this for the first time. Are we allowed to substitute some games we've chosen with others mid-event in case we can't (or don't feel like) finish them?
Comment has been collapsed.
Two month long event sounds good. As you said, it would allow to pick more long games, and there will be more space to manage this when unexpected real life duties comes into play.
Maybe there could be 2 prize tiers as well. One for people who finish 6 games, and another one for people who can finish 12 in 2 months🤔. Just a loose idea of course.

❁ INSIDE ⤟⤠ May '17 ⤟⤠ Unplayed Playin' now (◕ᴥ◕) Okay, so I gotta stop myself from playing it for now, cause so far it's been a friggin' masterpiece (not exaggerating) and I wanna save some of that good shit for later, realizing that no other game in my list could beat this awesome experience. There's no story really and/or deep gameplay mechanics there, so I can pick it back up later at any time. Plus I have so many screenshots to go through and upload already, cause this game is one of those beautiful screenshot generators for sure haha, so I'll chill on it for a while. ⤟⤠ Upd: Beaten (pic proof, as there's no ending achievement)
❀ Aviary Attorney ⤟⤠ Mar. '18 ⤟⤠ Beaten (pic proof, as the game has no achievements)
✽ AER Memories of Old ⤟⤠ Apr. '18 ⤟⤠ Beaten (achievement: Equilibrium)
✿ Minit ⤟⤠ Apr. '19 ⤟⤠ Beaten (achievement: MINIT)
✾ She Remembered Caterpillars ⤟⤠ Apr. '19 ⤟⤠ Nope Gonna switch this one up, not my type of puzzle game albeit a pretty decent one, and as the levels get more difficult I start wasting more time on this that I'd like.
❃ The Spiral Scouts ⤟⤠ Oct. '19 ⤟⤠ Nope Guess I'm not in the mood for puzzles atm at all... Just not having great time, so I'll swap it. Cool game though, will make sure to get back to it later.
✾ Brigador: Up-Armored Edition ⤟⤠ Jun. '17 ⤟⤠ Beaten (achievement: Find Your Exit)
❃ Tiny Echo ⤟⤠ Jun. '17 ⤟⤠ Beaten (achievement: Delivery Done)
✎ Potential substitutes: ABZU, Brigador: Up-Armored Edition, Tiny Echo
Didn't take me long to come up with a list of some cool games since it's my first time participating. I expect to have a moderate-to-great amount of fun with these hehe, although not sure about the playing times cause I don't like spoiling anything for myself, but I tried avoiding RPGs, sims and other type of games that surely would be on a longer side. And while I'm at it, also picked some games for a potential drop'n'swap, cause I'm picky and a chance of me not linking a game is high, but on the other hand I don't want to give in to the habit of just swapping through games, so it's gonna be "just" these 3 games.
Comment has been collapsed.
Guess I'm done already, heh. Unknowingly selected the games that were on the shorter side, which is perfect for me rn.
Overall, it was moderately fun. The games hat stood out were INSIDE, which became legit one of the best gaming experiences for me ever, and Brigador. Minit was cool too, a pretty unique little game that flopped for me in the second half with how vague the clues for the progression started getting. Otherwise, not sure what I was thinking picking 2 puzzle plus 3 puzzle-adventure games, as it's not "my" genre and it's rare that I'd beat a single game quickly, let alone 5 lol. So next time if I'm gonna participate again I'll try to not just go for he first decent games from the chronological Choice list I see, but instead pick 6 very different games genre- and gameplay-wise.

TOEM | December 2022 | Beaten "Experience TOEM" | Super cozy and adorable game. I loved every moment of it. I'll probably go back to finish more quests and hunt for achievements. |
INDUSTRIA | September 2022 | Beaten "The end is the end is the end is the end is the end" | Walking simulator with a barebones story and some mediocre gunplay to spice things up. Terrible AI. I liked the setting and atmosphere but the rest was meh. Short, harmless and utterly forgettable. |
Overload | June 2020 | Beaten Screenshot / Achievements (There's no achievement for finishing the game unless other conditions are met) | Does justice to the Descent franchise. Flying the ship and going pew pew felt fun even though I'm bad at retro shooters. Challenging game for sure, even at normal difficulty. Main gripe is that the levels become progressively larger and more labyrinthine. It got very disorienting and repetitive by the end. |
She Remembered Caterpillars | April 2019 | Completed "Resilient" | Beautiful hand-drawn artwork and very well-crafted puzzles. It's one of those hardcore puzzle games where you have to plan every move through. Mentally exhausting at first, but the more I got into it, the more I enjoyed it. Working out the logic for the final puzzle was very satisfying. |
My Friend Pedro | March 2020 | Beaten "Face the truth" | Not a fan. Controls feel very floaty and clunky. Levels are repetitive. |
198x | March 2020 | Beaten "Thank you for playing" | Didn't like this one either. Beautiful pixel graphics and strong nostalgia vibes but the mini games were very poorly made and the story couldn't have been any shallower. |
Potential backups: Shady Part of Me, Not For Broadcast, Eldest Souls

Shady Part of Me | February 2023 | Me |
Overall it's been pretty fun month. Was pleasantly surprised by Five dates (heard some complaints about bad acting and character direction, but the route I've played wasn't half bad) and Vampire The Masquerade was really enjoyable for what it was too, will definitely have to replay both of these someday and check out other routes. I was super bad at JumpJet Rex, but it was very enjoyable regardless. NAIRI was a very charming, for whatever reason one of the first puzzles you encounter in the game was the hardest one by far. The story left a ton of unanswered questions and is riding really hard on it's upcoming sequel. TOEM turned out to be a photo fetch quest simulator, but I could still appreciate it's worldbuilding and aesthetics. Shady Part of Me was my favourite out of the bunch - very solid puzzle platformer with a great soundtrack, artistic direction and creative use of it's 2D/3D mechanic. Not too easy not too hard.
I have fond memories of early Pokemon games, so I've also tried beating Monter Crown as a part of the event, but ended up dropping it really quick. Maybe I didn't give it a fair chance but early game was all the bugs and clunkiness of early generations and none of the charm.

Hmm i don't really know for the 2 months event.
In fact as it is done now it is rather logical compared to the HBC periodicity.
It's probably more complicated to implement and to follow for you but another solution is to reduce the number of games in case one of the games would exceed X hours of campaign by example.
But your event your choice so do it as you think it's the best and the easiest for you ;)

Mages of Mystralia | January 2020 | Completed - Spell Duelist | Adventure games with puzzle and monsters. The game has a very nice spell crafting mechanics with a lot of tools. Cosy game with a cosy soundtrack. |

Warstone TD | February 2020 | Completed - WINNER and EMPEROR | A classic Tower Defense game, funny cartoon-told story and there are a few maps where you both defend and attack at the same time. Will come back for the gold medals. |
Underhero | February 2020 | Completed Employee of the month! | Nice game, funny, interesting gameplay but the batcktracking suffers from very low movement speed. 7/10 |
The Ascent | August 2022 | Completed - Win | Nice gem out there. Sometimes top-down, sometimes side scroller in a cyberpunk setting. Game is incredibly detailed with numerous pretty looking places, combat is ok and the story is good too. Missing weapon customization but a very nice game. Hard too. |

Thank you for your generosity, and that'll help clear the backlog; plus they're usually under 10 euros during sales.

Copy pasta of copy pasta of copy pasta of copy pasta.
Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in one month.
The prize: Returnal
Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.
Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add you on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.
FAQ:
Why you doing this?
I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over seven years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.
I've played the first X minutes of a game, can I pick it for the event?
No. You cannot have any play time or achievements prior to the start of the event. The only exception is idle time from farming Steam cards.
Can I play a MP only game?
No. It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode.
If a game was sold as a non-Steam copy in a bundle (origin/uplay/drm-free/etc), can I pick it as a choice if I own a Steam copy?
No. The reason being that those who own a Steam copy would have an extra option that would not be available to everyone who bought the same bundle. If the game was originally sold as a non-Steam copy, but Humble later provided steam keys to everyone who bought the bundle, then the game would be allowed.
Why six games?
The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.
How long are you going to do this?
Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.
This event "ends" on April 4th when the next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the next day. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.
Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, and best of luck..
List of eligible games: https://barter.vg/bundles/3/3/

P.S. Small note, the event might go on hiatus again / change for 1-2 months. Things are still in flux right now, but there is a good chance that next month may not be doable and May would be significantly delayed. One option I'm thinking of is having a 2 month long event, which will allow folks to play some of the longer games, as well as get more people involved. If you have any thoughts on this, please feel free to share.
