That bundles take out all my points. Holy cow.

The points are generated based on how many giveaways are created. Since the new Humble 2k Bundle is awesome, people are buying it and giving it away like crazy. Therefore a ton of new giveaways are created and a bunch of new points are distributed to enter those giveaways.

A lot of people are creating giveaways, so the points replenish faster. It happens when a new bundle is revealed, and the current one, I assume, is particularly successful.
