Nice?
I'm more interested in how they hacked the keys away from Humble. I mean, really, guessing all of the gift links? Isn't it some astronomical number to guess even one gift link, much less thousands. Wouldn't a hack like that have scooped up every unclaimed gift link? I know when I clicked for each reward Humble just gave me the claimed page right away and then I revealed the key and redeemed it.
Is the simpler explanation just thousands of fake accounts, from I'm assuming thousands of fake addresses, getting the store rewards and then claiming all the keys?
Personally, i never reveal the keys or create gift links until just before I redeem or gift them to someone. On the flip side, I'm guessing people reveal or create gift links to save time later or because they worry about the keys not being available later.

hacked
Where is the source for this claim?

If anything that is the way it was done. You don't need an address on HB at all.

No source, just people commenting above about guessed gift links.

I already got The Tiny Bang Story, if anyone who still do not own it, u can ask me, first come first serve basis.
*on the other hand, i always claim the reward after finished claiming the stamp, normally on fifth day, (thats how i would not be able to get Meadow, since the keys exhausted) and if something like this happened, might as well, claimed it asap, get the key revealed. I hope HB can fix this soon.

If you still have an extra key can i have one please? :)

Hmmm, still waiting for them to get more Braveland keys. ☹

There should have been a note on the site about people reselling.
I was disappointed not to get my fifth stamp today.

Me too, :(
Didn't get the stamps every day, so I was about to complete 5 today.

Apparently someone got thousands of keys from HB and put them on reselling sites. As a result, the reward for collecting 5 stamps, The Tiny Bang Story, was removed.
Please don't put up baseless conjecture like that. if that one guy was the reason then Meadow would be removed too and they would never offer any free game at all anymore.
Way more likely is that the maximum amount of keys that the developer of this one game allowed for this event has been exhausted.
The total number would rather be closer to 100k (or more) than 10K, so even if thousands of keys were taken, that alone would not be reason enough for such a reaction.

If that was the case, the game would have stayed there as a reward and say out of keys. They already stated "while supplies last" so that wasn't the case. Something else happened for them to back down completely from giving out their promised reward.

How do you know that?
already stated "while supplies last"
Yes that was exactly the case and supports my theory. They ran out of maximum allowed keys and that's it. How do you otherwise explain that Meadow is still there while it is affected just the same?

It could have been removed at the request of the developer. But yeah, these are all just theories.

Once the keys were exhausted for every other game so far, the reward stayed there but had a message that keys were exhausted. The removal of the reward never happened before as far as I know. That means something else happened. The most likely candidates are problems with the keys or a serious security vulnerability that allowed some malicious persons to get more keys than intended. As a software engineer myself I incline towards the second theory. But as long as HB makes no official statement this is nothing other than speculation. I seriously doubt someone would set up 3000 steam accounts to claim some keys. Bear in mind that to actually get the key you need to link your steam account. I don't say it's impossible but it's improbable. The more likely theory is a security vulnerability that allows someone to get to the keys (most likely an SQL injection of some sort if I'm to guess but wtv).

There's a difference between the stock of keys that they had ready being exhausted and the amount of keys that the dev is willing to give in total, which is what I'm referring to.

You are underestimating tech versed guys in low wage countries. Hint: yes they do that, in fact they already have. Card farming is a lot more profitable there.
a security vulnerability that allows someone to get to the keys
But again why is Meadow not affected by it then?
Look at Nimmy's post, he provides a way more likely explanation.

That's usually on a contractual basis and is pretty much entirely decided before the event starts, so I doubt there's any margin for error there.

As I said, it's possible. Still I believe there's some flaw. Keep in mind companies usually never announce their vulnerabilities before patching them so the lack of information might sustain this theory.
But again why is Meadow not affected by it then?
Maybe because the keys are already exhausted so there's no risk involved.
Also having duplicates might suggest someone else activated the key even if it was genuinely sent by the dev in unactivated state, meaning somewhere along the line the key became compromised as a result of a security flaw.
I don't know and I honestly don't really care to sort HB problems or even identify them. They started acting up lately which pretty much supports the theory of them having some vulnerabilities. It would be a good practice to be open about it but until they make an official announcement everything is pure speculation :)

I agree with you that the conjecture is baseless, but I don't think it's just that the max amount of keys has been exhausted.
I got a dupe key and, if you look for example at FreeGamesOnSteam on reddit, you'll see I'm far from the only one. So I suspect there was something wrong with the bunch of keys the dev gave (maybe the shipment was intercepted, or the keys were wrong in the first place, or something else, I don't know)

Hi there,
I'm sorry for the delay! Unfortunately, we ran out of The Tiny Bang Story game and the promotion was while supplies last. We’re incredibly sorry about this, but there’s nothing we can do. You can follow our announcements through several different mediums.
My reply:
I don't believe there's nothing you can do, since it says I should wait for a key!
"The Tiny Bang Story
Keys are temporarily exhausted for this product
As soon as we receive more keys, we will add them to this page and send you an email."
