I don't play VN's, but I will recommend to you a game that I played recently, and I liked it Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator

Lovely thread. Something that hasn't been mentioned yet is The Letter, which is a fantasic horror visual novel. It doesn't seem to have the LGBTQ+ tag and it's certainely not a happy representation, but the game/story itself is so good and has full voice acting. Whether the queer characters die depends on your choices and routes. And also some QTEs/button smashes I think? It's the same devs as Perfect Gold if that tells you anything.

Well it's to be expected with the genre. As long as they're not targeted at a higher rate than the other characters, it's fine.
Still a good idea to mention triggers so you did good.

Oh, almost forgot to mention - I Just Want to be Single isn't out yet, but I think it'll be one hell of a gem for aroace rep. Creators have some shorts in itchio as well :)

After reading your comment I had to check the publisher's name and wow, someone noticed that there wasn't a character limit in that box and just ran with it XD
Just imagine having to fill that name when doing paperwork tho, imposible to keep a straight face.

I somehow missed this thread before, but happy I came across it, there are some lovely recommendations in this thread, will have to go through them!
For cosy suggestions, I believe no one has mentioned Night in the Woods yet. Game is everything. It's cute, dark, funny, mysterious, wholesome, queer, and explores a lot of serious topics but always keeps that cosy vibe.

Arcade Spirits is a good one! I'm currently playing it for PAGYWOSG, and I like it, though I'm only in the middle of my game. It has many romance options, plus you can have they/them pronouns. The only thing I hate, is that you can't have a feminine character. She's made masc-leaning androgynous no matter what you do.
Here's a great review that I 100% agree with. This is a good review, too.

If JRPGs are your thing, Nights of Azure and it's sequal are two. I own them both on console but never got around to playing them, might get them again on Steam when they go on sale.

Tell Me Why is a top tier one. It's the same devs as Life is Strange, but this time it's two twins (one of whom is trans masculine) with a supernatural bond in their small hometown in Alaska to investigate a huge mystery of their childhood.
Absolutely amazing game made with a lot of love for the characters and the topic. I completely loved it.

To be honest, I’m not very interested in LGBT games and I don’t plan to participate in giveaways, but I’ll risk helping with recommending a game of this genre.

Hmm, it's been a long time since I played romance VN, so I'll go with a cozy magic and farming game with the LGBT+ tag as same sex relationships are possible in it: Wylde Flowers
I haven't read all the posts, so perhaps it was already posted before, if so sorry for the lack of novelty.
Thanks for the January GAs!

Found another little gem hidden away while brainlessly browsing; A Risen Heart
(Also, another giveaway added up top)

Bump. I don't remember other games that fit those descriptions other than the Neptunia series, Atelier series, Blue Reflection series, Rabi-Ribi, Crush Crush and Blush Blush. I also have Dream Daddy on my backlog, but since I still didn't play it I can't recommend it yet.

Nova Hearts will have its full release in the summer, but you can play the first chapter now. The first chapter is free.
Gayming Magazine has a short article about this game, here.

Damn looks awesome! I suck at TB games but there are a few games that make me enjoy it. That sounded better in my head.
I just mean it's going to take me forever to finish the game but I'm totally fine with it with art like this or something

Happy cakeday.
I would reccomend some games with lgbt rep, but everytime I see some of it on any game I'm like:
"Wow, they are gay. Nice to know"
proceeds to forget in the next 10 seconds
Actually, I reccomend Crosscode, two of the main characters are gay and dating (but it's revealed on the DLC tho)

Penny Larceny: Gig Economy Supervillain
I'm not spoiling anything but it's full of lgtbq+ characters and issues. Even if it isn't the main focus. It's more.. real life like. It's there, but it isn't the focus. Dunno how to say it better xD
Very carefully written as well for pronouns and choices
Catlike Magic
This isn't a vn for a change but it does have some crazy story with a maybe lesbian cat :P (you'll have to figure it out on your own why I used the word "maybe" :P )
I'm guessing you are not looking for AVNs but if you change your mind, start with The Gorgon Trilogy (imo the best "female" point of view on f+f, unlike the majority that feels like it was made only with men in mind) + it does have a story and it isn't a mindless dialogue only to advance to scenes:
Tragedy of Medusa
Euryale's Gambit
Athena's Revenge

I didn't play many since my last post here, or just didn't notice much >_<
One I played is Tell Me Why by Don't Nod/Dontnod, it plays a somewhat major role in the plot ^_^ Game still has that supernatural twist like other Don't Nod games, but it has a more grounded tale.

Highschool Romance was pretty good if you like Visual Novels.

A bump with a nod to a "game" I read about just yesterday, ahead of Pride Month
Body of Mine
Shame it's VR but I get the intent. It certainly does look like a one of a kind VR experience.
Coming tomorrow on Steam but a direct download is available on their website.
Of course it won't be the same as the full body tracking experience as it was showcased in events and festivals but it's still a pretty interesting project for those of you equipped with VR and it pushes the boundaries of what VR can be used for.

Interesting! If I had VR I would for sure test this out, thanks for the heads-up!
The dev's next project is called "A Cure For Straightness" and uses an AI model to create a virtual therapist that attempts to convince straight people to become gay, to illustrate the absurdity of conversion therapy.
It's interesting how he uses technology to illustrate a point from a personal perspective rather than just explaining to you what the message is.

Another one, I'm eyeing this game myself so I hope whoever wins it will let me know how it is :)

You have no idea how much my bones was creaking while my head went copy, paste, copy, paste, fiddle fiddle finicky bugger
Well you if played the fiddle at the same time, I get why it's a bit of an ordeal. Very much appreciated ;)
It was on Prime? Oh darn!
Pride Month 2022 apparently. So she did play it more than a few months back.

Based on what you said, I 100% recommend Goodbye Volcano High
If you are ever willing to stomach a long game again, I recommend Persona 4 Golden. It has LGBTQ themes in a JRPG, where half the game is JRPG turn-based combat system and the other half is a visual novel life simulator.

Looks interesting. I'm not usually into VN but I have had quite a few great experiences (with games like Eliza and If Found, both of which had LGBTQ+ themes) and this one looks like there's more to it than just clicking through dialog, which is often my issue with VN.

there are persons, e-people, folks you'll only see on the Internet, humans, that you'll always remember and you don't actually know why.
i also honestly never gave a single fuck about LGBTish. GAYsh. about frociaggine as Francesco told us :D (not religious, here. luv the man and his style) so can't really recommend you games...
always had huge problem with tags, i never trusted a "tag" cause a tag is a limit, and don't have limits, any, here.
but, i do love yo so the fucking much!

I hear you but sometimes tagging yourself help you find your tribe and make a safe space for those who need it. I think when everyone is as tolerant of others differences as we should be (gotta respect what you don't understand, right?) the need for tags and identity and safe spaces will diminish. But you and I will be helping the grass grow by then, I'm sure ;)

Hold up, before you report me for my very misleading title; I do have games to give away here, and I do want recommendations.
I've been in such a gaming rut this year, nothing seems to capture my interest for a full playthrough anymore. Unless it's something cozy with LGBTQ+-tag. I really loved Life is Strange: True Colors (sorry for the region-locks, blame GMG), and I think everyone should have a Steph in their lives.
And No Longer Home was short and cute.
Just bought myself Queer Man Peering Into A Rock Pool.jpg and Terranova, does anyone else have any recommendations? I feel like it's mostly VNs that has this tag, and I think I'm just overly picky when it comes to that specific genre.
Happy gayming!
(I'll be sure to check out your recommendations, and hopefully it's also a good way for others to find new games too!)
For fun and giggles, I noticed my pack of toothbrushes had some sensitivity to them.
