Most of the guys on internet are pretty paranoid when it comes to females on the internet. Sometimes there is a good reason (as in a reason of history, if you get me) and sometimes there isn't. Maybe it is something that could be traced back to Runescape and such. But at the end of the day, it should never be something that could bother your personally. Consider that half of views people conceive about others are based on assumptions anyway.

Funny story: two years back, we had a certain user here who was pretty well known in the community for the time she spent here. Eventually she got promoted to mod/support position and managed to trick everyone about her gender, including the admin himself. It was only two weeks ago that I got hold of some substantial evidence revealing that all this time it was actually a guy (as I always suspected). A guy who came up with one of the most elaborate web of deception and it worked.

I just think of everyone on the internet as a guy, and treat them as, well, non-gendered...it stops my missus from thinking I want to fuck everyone I talk to :/

Also with the poll, I think it's obvious :p Especially if they just look at your profile and see what you've been playing :p Most people assume right off the bat that I am one, but I still get those people who ask. I don't really care, I act like I'm a man sometimes XD Kinda. Well, at least compared to my boyfriend who likes pink and squeals like a little girl over game-related news...
