Suck on that, haters.
Looks like they were listening to the "fans" after all...

EDIT: I'm not an EA fanboy, I don't like that company very much, but I still felt that the hate was just too much.

Oh boy, I sure am excited for ten Powerpoint epilogue slides and for the so much needed explanation of that so incredibly deep and thoughtful ending. I'm glad that Bioware's artistic integrity remains uncompromised.

Nazdar,

your post is the essence of "haters gonna hate".
There is no reason why it should end this way. Bioware already proofed they are capable of extraordinary DLCs. I say let's wait and see.

I will gladly eat my own words if they'll really prove me wrong. I would love to, ME series is one of my favorite videogame series ever, it just pains me to see it end how it did. Also Bioware used to be one of my favorite developers, I'm not hating on them just for the sake of hating. It's just that after all the lies about the ending and all the bullcrap about their "artistic integrity", I don't think anything good can come from this DLC.

All anyone should have to say on the matter... however, I'll elaborate a bit.

Mass Effect was built up as an epic story, where choices were carried over not only between parts of the games, but through the games themselves. To end the game with what essentially amounts to 6 cookie cutter builds, with 3 different colors representing the choices, is unacceptable.

Not even touching the topic of Day-One DLC and the other bullshit EA has been pulling.
But you're right, I'm just a hater.

I don't think the haters need to "suck it", their hate was justified 3 times over. The only reason they did anything about iw was because people were going to baw about it until they eventually take action.

They did NOT need to do anything about it. They already have astronomical sold numbers, the bitching of some "fans" doesn't change that. It wouldn't even change sells of any future title due to the major hype that is definitely going to happen.

They choose to do something about that.

They were not listening to the fans. Fans didnt want this end. Making DLC with extended content to the same end, which most fans hate, isnt listening to the fans, it is listening to the PR.

Well, I personally hope they actually aimed for, or are now aiming to incorporate the Indoctrination Theory of ME3's ending. Because, simply put, that theory actually holds too much water, and is too well supported by actual games series canon, to be ignored. The foliage next to the conduit that wasn't there, the odd behavior of the child, the foreshadowing of indoctrination effects throughout the whole series, the simple fact that the maximum threshold for EMS supports that the destroy/shep lives ending is best...

And I really, really have trouble believing that the ME2/3 writing staff, after doing such great jobs with the last two games, could have bungled the ending so badly without expecting the backlash they did.

But if they don't actually address core problems with the ending, if the whole BS with the Catalyst isn't fixed, then no matter what they do, even if they expand or explain what happened, then they'll fail. You can paint gold on a turd, but it'll still be a turd.
