A while back someone randomly added me, and asked me if I was interested in Rocket league, (and yes I was interested) He told me he got it from buying the steam link and controller, so he had an extra copy available. He wanted grid autosport for it (it was in the sale at that moment) The deal seemed reasonable, and it made me more excited because I didnt had enough money to buy rocket league itself (grid was cheaper) So i decided to buy grid autosport. The guy I was trading with said that I had to go first because he had more +rep's on his profile then I did. I decided to go first since the deal and the guy seemed fair. So after gifting it to him, he didnt respond and eventually deleted me. That was quite frustrating, but it is what it is XD I dont want to look sad orsomething, since it is my own bad, I should asked him if he could give me a link to his steamgifts profile. and gifting eachother is on ur own risk ofcourse. After looking at his profile again, all his +rep's were faked -_- stupid me.....

Sooo.. is there anything I can do against him, so he wont scam anyone else? Is there a way to find him on steamgifts? Or is there a way to warn other people about this guy? Anything that might help? or even better is there a way to get my game back? (I guess not but who knows)

Thanks in advance :)))

Sorry for my bad english.

You can report his account, but it will do little good. Try warning people of him by flagging him on https://steamrep.com/ with his id32/id64.

Rule #1: don't accept random request.
Nearly every scam problem solved.

Trust me 90% of random adds are bad news or low ball offers. Golden rule of life : if it is too good to be true ........

Randomly add for trade? No, no, no. Never again. I'm sorry you learned this way :(

People either should learn how to not get scammed while trading or shouldn't trade. The only thing you need to do is use common sense!

No, can't do that on SG. He'd get suspended for calling out.

Is there a way to find him on steamgifts?

If you view his Steam profile in your browser and have enhanced Steam installed it will show a link to SG. Clicking on it will bring up his SG profile, or take you to the SG homepage if he doesn't have one.

Looks like this.

You've sent it to him as gift right?
If so I believe you can ask for refund for it on steam , give it a shoot.

I don't think so, I sent a scammer two gifts and sent in a ticket for them back and they said they cant do anything about it sadly so it either depends on if they redeemed it or not, or wont work at all

Incorrect. Gifts that have been removed from your own account at any point, are no longer valid for refunds.
This includes if you buy multi-pack multiplayer games and learn the multiplayer is broken -.-

And then the bloody 2-pack for the game was bundled a week or two later, to add more injury to injury.

I've heard casses where people were scammed (gift revoked) , so not sure if some specific criteria has to be met...
Anyway doesen't hurt to try.

The gift IS removed from account on a scam. It's just not returned to the original purchaser.
Valve has a fairly strict 'no refunds on trades/gifts' policy.

That being said, no, definitely always better to try. :)

I actually got scammed pretty bad a while ago and I sent a steam ticket in and reported him a bunch and that was it. :/ Never got anything back and idk where that scammer is now but hopefully it did something? Anyway I say just report his steam account that's all that would work for me.

In any case, anything else aside, make sure to click on their steam profile and report for 'attempted trade scam'.
While Valve's support is terrible about a lot of things, they seem to approach both refund requests and scam supports with a fair level of priority (though you will not get a refund of your game even if their account is suspended, fair warning).

Also, never look at someone's steam profile for trades. Use Barter.vg for creating trades, use Barter and SG's feedback scores for reference. Blind trades are always going to be a major risk.. or rather, will have only a very minor chance of working out..
This is especially true for random adds, who are, in any communication platform ever, overwhelmingly comprised of the worst, most lazy and ugly-spirited scammers around.

you can allways do a refund, if no reply and friend status removed you can be sure it was scam, you need just hurry, because even if he activate it you have tim to refund before he plays more than 2 hours.

Well, no. If you have a copy revoked because of fraud, the amount of time he plays doesn't matter. Refunds can only be issued if both parties consent if you've given a gift.

However, if you traded a Steam gift you can ask Valve to undo the trade. If it's a key, contact the vendor about it. Those are the best options.
