How high is your monthly income in US Dollars?
I'm a highschool teacher and an independent theater actor.
I'm currently earning around 500 dollars per month. The rent of my apartment alone goes around half that income. The economy of my country is a mess of inflation and disproportionate taxes.
My disposable income is sadly way below 100 dollars :(

I'll admit to being one of the 4000USD+ a month. I work 14 hr day/nightshifts to support my wife and 2 toddlers. 70% of our wage goes straight to living expenses. Rent, Food, Bills & petrol
This does not cover car maintenance costs ie tyres, services & breakdowns.
or Vet costs for our two dogs.
Or our childrens clothes or toys.
or mandatory car registrations
or smas/bday presents
or household furniture
or............ I think you get the point
Our internet cost $63USD a month, for 200Gb ADSL2+ (approx 2MB/sec)
We are trying to save for a house deposit.. we only require approx $100,000USD to put down a 15-20% deposit. We have a very very very long way to go.
So at the end of the month. i get about 150USD to spend as I will. on beer and scotch. @ approx USD$35 a carton of beer. I get a little for games, not that I really have the time with 2 kids.
So even if you make a lot of USD, it doesn't mean you are getting ahead. I'm not complaining, I do okay but I really need my wife to find a job soon, so we can save some money.

I was so disgusted, I changed providers.
I now have unlimited data and a dual adsl2+/4G network modem, (uses phone network when broadband is out) and am currently using the backup mobile network while i wait for the connection to be finalised.
This cost me a extra $5 USD a month.

the thing is, the poll isn't exactly fair. Cost of living is a major thing.
For example, I've lived in a lot of different places, and to pick one of the bigger differences: When I lived in northern England, my rent was fourty pounds a week. From there I moved to New York City, where my rent was two thousand dollars a month. Even though my income was much higher, after paying for necessities I had a lot less left over. Likewise, the amount of money I spent on food in a month in greece wouldn't ahve lasted a week in Switzerland.
oh, and as for the actual question, I currently run my own business. Last month I earned nothing - and was spending money on various costs associated with the business, so my income was actually negative. But this month I'm doing ok. Next month will probably be a little less, but I'm gearing up for a big december.

Sometimes I too wonder what other people in my society make. Or what people of my profession living in another country make. It's human nature to think.
And we are here on the internet and most certainly no two people here know each other personally. Some people do not mind sharing their figures with others.
No need to be too surprised.

I'm almost 40 years old and I've never understood this point of view.
I discuss money and finances with anyone who asks, how do I know if i could be getting better wages if I don't know what others are earning? I'd be annoyed if I found out that we do the same job but i make $10 less an hour.
I found this whole thread to be a real eye opener... at the widely ranging cost of living,

It's been many years since I was the other side of 40 so maybe it is a generational thing. As far as I am concerned my finances and what happens behind my door is nobodies business but mine.
I must admit, that I spent my working life as my own boss, so if anything, the lads that worked for me would be the ones in your shoes wondering if they where getting $10 less than others. If I couldn't quote a reasonable price that was both competitive and could cover my expenses then I would not take the job. When I was a young bloke, getting a job was as easy as going down the pub and putting the word out that you needed work, sadly those days are gone.

As the poll is anonymous (and you even could be lying) you don’t need to be afraid that others will find out.
In our country when they do statistics one question is always the income of your household.

reminds me of a time when I was young. A friend and I went to the same temporary staffing agency, and got the same temporary staffing job. They asked him how much he wanted to make, he said X, and got paid X. They asked me how much I wanted to make, I said Y and got paid Y. Y is approximately 1.4 X

"Funds you have available for buying games/bundles/gifts" (from the external poll) is very different from "Funds you are willing to spend on buying games/bundles/gifts". I'm not sure how to answer the former. I have so many games in my library and find it hard to find time to play them, so I'm not willing to spend much at all. I could spend a pretty significant amount if buying games was a priority over other hobbies, but that's not likely to happen any time soon.

Hello Community!
EDIT: Here is a better poll made by user NB264 that differentiates between gross and net income and funds available to buy things.
Many times when I read the forums I am puzzled by some statements. I always raise my eyebrows when someone says "I have no money to buy this bundle this month" or "I am selling cards to have the money to buy games".
The first thought in my head is always: "How is it possible to not have ~5 Dollars to buy a bundle? How? Even with social welfare there is enough money left to save this small amount of money per month."
But then the second thought kicks in: "Oh, wait, we're a global community and I can't convey the standards in my country to other countries. I have to remember that there are a lot of countries where money is scarce, wages are low, inflation is high etc."
So with this second thought I am always able to understand the problems and not judge them or the people in those situations.
Nevertheless, I wonder: How high is your monthly income, fellow SGers? ("The income of a person is therefore the sum of all of his earnings.")
To make it all comparable lets only use USD as a currency.
Cheers.
Edit: I now realize that this poll is not set up correctly and I should be more strict in the description, focusing on disposable income aka "money to spent or to save per month". But I can't change the poll now since there are already votes.
Maybe someone else will create a new thread with better wording to have more precise knowledge of the financial situation of most SGers.
