I am a spiritual consultant and if person believes prayer does work.
Qunatum physics is a very complicated matter.
Long thing short it is effected by the observer which means test maker effects rsults of the test called schroeder's cat theory.
Belief can create results.
From spiritual perspective God may create universe but he also gave you free will.
Which means you are responsible of all your behaviours, emotions and thoughts.
You might think how can I be responsible of my emotions?
E-motions are always in flux and it is personal.

Spiritual view says God created universe yet he does not intervien. There are no miracles.
And there is always a bigger picture.
A basic point of view sees people suffering but I see a virus which challanges people's thought patterns and re shape many things.

Bolivia is also doing lots of other things: restricting travel, closing borders, etc. I don't know enough to list all what they are doing and should be doing. But this call to pray and fast is not a substitute for practical action, it is another action to take. OP is misrepresenting the situation.
Prayer and fasting are integral components of all major religions. Even if you do not pray, ridiculing those who do is not a good way to relate with other human beings. At the moment we have a worldwide health crisis. We need solidarity, cooperation, compassion... Ridicule only breaks down those things.

Some of my best friends are religious people, I have no problem with them. But people trying to regress the country to a religious state really rubs me the wrong way. I think a interim president in an aconfesional country shouldn't be saying things like prayers will be the best weapons against the virus.

But if we are being serious, what self-proclaimed interim president dares contradict their own constitution? Article 4 of the bolivarian constitution:

The constitution of Bolivia establishes the freedom of religion and a separation between church and state. The constitution further prohibits discrimination along religious lines. And she is saying to people to pray, or things in interviews like "This Bible is very important to us. Our strength is God," "Power is God.". A country in this day and age trying to reverse to a religious state.
They want to impose their religion, let's not forget that. They attack indigenous religions all the time. People who can't respect others, deserve no respect.

Didn't they just put their country into a 14-day quarantine? The OP is making it sound like they are expecting prayer to vanish the virus without taking any action. If they believe that prayers can help them along with taking other actions, why do people have an issue with it. Leave them to their own beliefs. Sometimes, that's all people have left to give them hope.
