The game isn't Steamworks as far as I know... But Amazon is selling Steam keys sometimes, even if the game isn't Steamworks.

Steam don't gave me a uPlay key for the game at all. Gave me a key for Deluxe. Anyway it's always better have it on steam :p

Only the version labelled steam is a steam key. The other DRM is for UPlay only

So I am a little confused about Far Cry 3. I was under the impression that there was no "key" version of it, but I stumbled across a few thing that made me realize that isn't entirely true.
The first thing is I noticed amazon has a "Steam DRM" buy option for this game. It only has 6 reviews where the regular drm has over 120, so maybe this option was recently added or something ? Though some of the reviews on both versions say that the Steam DRM version still just gives you a uplay key regardless. I'm not sure how true that is.
I also found a steam cdr for the retail version and even a key for it to prove they exist XAG6D-K67W7-GCBRL
So can anyone explain this? Is amazon exclusively selling steam keys, are all retail versions activating on steam now, or what's the deal?
