Hmm can somebody tell me if this is enjoyable, even when...

  • I don't have (and more importantly don't want) a controller
  • I don't like platformers and arcade too much
  • I'm not too fond of Disney?

I'd grab a gift copy just in case, but since it's gonna end up on the bundle
list most likely and also I don't like to be bullied as in "buy now or you can't anymore".
Advice would be welcome. Cheers.

Considering your three list points, what is making you consider the purchase?

This. There is no reason to pick it up considering the three strong arguments against it.

Comment has been collapsed.

Well, it does look visually appealing from the screenshots on the store page. Also, I might
make an exeption with platformers if it's more than just that, like also having puzzle or
adventure elements, that's why I'm asking.

I guess I get what you mean... Sometimes I'm like "come on world, make me like an RPG!" :) I found out I can (barely) enjoy the South Park game.

Back to you, the visuals of the game are appealing and the controls are simple so it's playable without a controller (still I suggest you reconsider your decision about them), but it's pretty much a skills-based platformer with little in terms of adventure and puzzle. A fun and challenging game, nonetheless.

Okay, I guess I can survive without Mickey Mouse, and Mickey Mouse without me. Skill-based is probably not for me, since
I got no skill with that type of game ... thanks for the advice.

It's probably not what you'd like from what you said. Just pass. It's really simple as a game from the first area I played through, but it's something I'd pay for if there's a possible chance it won't return.

Yup I managed to restrain myself from buying it just for the sake of doing so.
It's - most likely - not my thing, so I guess I'll just save my wallet fro other stuff.
Way too many games anyway. Thanks for the advice.

Comment has been collapsed.

Yes, SteamGifts gets it's data from Steam, so when something is pulled from the Steam store, you can't give it away here anymore.

However, a game can be manually re-enabled by the SG site owner, it just usually takes awhile.

It's not really different from buying a bundle or sale game to trade, and it then being cheaper, or the same price again even though you assumed it would be a once in a lifetime discount. etc.

Removed games are a niche in the trading world and the status of some of these removed games is unpredictable.

I'm sorry to hear that.

It's not a bad game and it's a Disney game so the chance is high that you can trade the 3 you have left.

I know it's a good game. I won it from aurorable on steamgifts, played it fully, and liked it. But it gets a different value if it's not on steam. And this looked like a marketing strategy. >:(

You can sell them for the price that you paid, don't you? :-/

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

But they're not getting easily sold. This game doesn't have many fans. Anyway, maybe you're right - I should stop being greedy. :/

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You were not greedy, you saw a business opportunity and you got it.
What I meant is that you wont lose money if you can sell the copies that you have left for the market price :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Market price is indifferent to trading price. If you're talking about its current market price, I would love to find people to sell it for that price, but that obviously won't happen, because who would buy it for the same price as the store price?! :P I was selling it at a lower price anyway. I just hope it won't get a discount soon.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There was no real opportunity. It was announced this was getting pulled so everyone had the chance to grab it, plus it being a licensed title all the serious collectors were watching for sales anyway.

For some reason I thought this was the sequel to Epic Mickey, lol. I remember playing Epic Mickey on Wii (I probably still have it), and for some reason I thought this was the sequel, but it must not be, since it's a re-imagining of a Genesis game...

Now that I think about it, maybe the sequel to EM was just Epic Mickey 2 or something? And I don't even know if it was actually for other platforms or just Wii... lol, whatever.

Over 500 dollars, going as high as nearly a thousand.
Unless you look at the game's Steam forum. The amount of people thinking they can get it for like 3-10 bucks or flat-out begging for it is astounding. (And funny enough, all of those people's most-played game is CS:GO. Without exception. Looks like stereotypes do exist for a reason, eh? :D)

You're talking about Mafia 1, right? I remember seeing it for over 100 keys (not sure, maybe 120 - 160 keys, I don't even remember). Anyway, a lot of steam users are stupid. :P They are offering free games, cards, discount coupons, extremely low prices, etc. for good games and expect a positive answer. xD

That's a fraction of it's value, no.
You can tell them politely that you have nothing to do with them :D

I don't remember its value, to be honest. I just remember it was more than 100 keys - how much more, I don't know. :P
I know, I just tell them no, then goodbye, then delete them. :P

Back when a handful of people still had it, the asking price for a Steam gift copy of Mafia usually started at 200 keys and would go from there to god knows where. That was about an year ago, no idea what it's like nowadays though.

Can we get Wolfenstein, and maybe The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, back on Steam or is that too much too ask?

(Interestingly enough, they're both FPS games released in 2009 that have since been removed from Steam.)

didn't realize Riddick had been removed. Glad I bought it a long time ago, although some people prefer the GOG version because the particular DRM on the Steam version was kind of lame.

Wasn't the DRM eventually removed though (from all the complaints against it)?

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is still purchasable on Gamestop but it requires a US payment method. I've heard you can buy giftcards off US Amazon, but I haven't tried it myself.

I think there is a few copies of Wolfenstein floating around. Not too sure tbh, but it would run up past the $500 mark so it would be better to get a console version of the game for $10-$20.
