Not scary and definitely not that good as people say.

I mean...sometime the zombies can be really creepy and those poison headcrabs are lethal as hell. So yes, the game does give you reason to be scared.

The game itself isn't but there's a part in which to play inside a village which have zombies and sometimes they can scare you.

In my opinion only the Ravenholm level is scary, and that sand level(I'm trying to not be spoiler here but you will never see sand in beaches the same way ever again).
It's scary but not that much. I can not play horror games(but zombies, zombies not scary) and I played HL2 easily.

Ravenholm is creepy, but not that scary. As for the rest of the game, it's not scary at all.

Not really, I usually just get shocked when I turn around and a zombie is near me.

Ive played it a LOT trust me its my favorite game i LOVE it, Its not scary, Its action, shooting,etc...
Though the level "We don't go to ravenholm..." is a little scary

depends on what you find scary. Most of the game is just running around shooting aliens and stuff but there's the zombietown you mentioned that some people find scary since for some reason it's night there and it's full of zombies.

Well Ravenholm is more creepy than scary, other than that is not.

• Poison zombies jumping at you will make you pee
• Zombies might scare you if they manage to creep up on you from behind

I didn't really find the game scary, I just know I hated the Ravenholm chapter and wanted it to be over with since there's freaking these headcrab zombies with their chests split open coming at me. But ultimately no, not a scary game. Ravenholm was extremely creepy and eerie. But it wasn't scary.
