Did you try in both a web browser and the client ?

well that's the weird part,yesterday i bought like 9 or 10 gifts but there has been days that i'd bought a lot more without any problems :|(this is the first time i'm encountering this problem )
so i thought they changed the rules for russian (cheap regions in general ) gifts maybe they changed something and they also flag people who had bought lots of gifts.....

If you have an android\ios\windows phone, try to buy using your mobile connection, it seems to be an ip-related store-ban

I had that happen last weekend, bought 10 copies of something i couldn't buy an other one for 30mins - 1hour.
Once this delay is passed you'll be able to buy more copies again.

yeah that's the basic transaction limit (10 transactions in 1 hour ) but this time it suddenly happened and it's been almost 15-16 hours and still i can't buy gifts.....

It's weird, check the game you're trading isn't all of a sudden gift restricted from your country. That happened with a game here before, couldn't buy the game as a gift and there was a warning on the game page.

I recall another forum user (deltablade) having the same problem a while back, from what i can remember there's multiple types of temporary purchase restrictions varying from 1 hour to 1 week, couldn't find the thread in question though so can't link you to the source.

so starting today i kept getting the famous " and unexpected error..." msg when trying to buy games (as gifts ),first i thought i can't buy any games at all but just now i bought a game for myself (i chose "purchase for myself " ) without any problems :| but then i tried buying another game as gift (selecting the "purchase as gift" option ) ,the error popped up again.....
so what is this?
