What is the chance of rolling a '1' on a die with an unknown number of sides?

Look at how many, on average, have entered a giveaway for any given game. Now take 1/that number and you'll roughly get the chance of winning giveaways for that game. More people tend to enter giveaways when they are nearly done (due to the giveaways showing up on the front page).
Note that public giveaways tends to get more than 1000 people entering, unless it's for a game that a large portion of the community already own (like say Tropico 4)

It's 50/50! Either you win or you lose!
Seriously though, it's 1:number of entries, assuming one copy.

Yeah, I can't be as sarcastic as usual unfortunately. So sad :(

You have 1 chance on [amount of entries on the giveaway].
So it depends on which giveaways you enter.

I was homeschooled, and I can figure out this obvious problem. Don't knock us homeschooled kids!
