Looks interesting. I'll still see it in theaters since it's become a personal tradition. I've seen EVERY Star Wars in the theaters. So I HAVE to see this one too.

Just like the other Disney Wars movies, it's just a commercial for toys and merch licensing.
I've moved on. Wake me up when the next Terminator trailer comes. Maybe they can still save that franchise before the Disney geniuses put their big feet into it.

Well that was the third one in the trilogy so yeah by that time, FOX had realized how much money they could make off toys.
And that wasn't the only thing in the movie, unlike the Disney batch. The whole point now is to sell licenses.
ROTJ had added stuff to sell licenses, it wasn't the whole story.

The only thing I'm happy about is that the saga comes to an end.
I would prefer to see Jar-Jar again instead of watching one more new episode or "Star Wars Story" from Disney.

Wonder if there'll a Chiss connection in the film (the Ascendency and its navigators). We need a live action Thrawn! Also, has Palpatine been bound to the reactor of DS II all this time? Perhaps what he was trying to observe finally descends upon the known galaxy?

One of the handful of movies I'm actually looking forward to seeing this year.
While some of the films are better than others, they've all entertained me.
Things Only True Fans Noticed In The Rise of Skywalker Trailer
Also felt this video worth posting for fans (?) of the series, given how easy it is to miss a lot of details in short trailers like this.

pathetic. absolutely pathetic.
i never cared much for star wars since i've always been more of a trekkie myself.
but even i can see they don't give a shit about anything. they just care about milking the franchise as much as possible.
half the new trailer rides on nostalgia to get you "in the mood" for the next "we didn't try anything yet and we are all out of ideas already" cash grab film.
what a fucking disgrace.

Hopefully the film will feature elements from the Mortis trilogy, the Yoda trilogy in the Lost Missions season, the world between worlds, the Thrawn trilogy, and the Aftermath trilogy (+the interludes), and see characters like Bazine Netal, Chelli Lona Aphra, Ahsoka Tano, Hondo Ohnaka, Vi Moradi, Qi'ra, and Iden Versio (and even maybe minor characters like Kedpin Shoklop, Malakili, Jacen Syndulla, or Ubialla Gheal). It's the last movie in the Skywalker saga, so they might as well throw everybody in. We know that it will reference the events from the Flight of the Falcon stories and the Batuu stories (A Crash of Fate, Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire, etc), as well as the upcoming Resistance Reborn, so those are also things to look forward to.

The very fact that people are still spending money on a franchise that has been bastardized beyond belief with Mary Sue characters, political propagandas, and middle finger to male fanbase makes me loose faith in humanity.

This whole "anti-male" bullshit I never understood. Since its first movie, Star Wars has always been female-empowering. Perhaps people didn't notice that Leia was a strong woman and not a fainting princess. She was one of only a few female characters from my childhood that I actually looked up to. In a time where TV was filled with mostly fainting princesses, Star Wars broke from that mould. Rei is basically the new Leia/Luke. There are plenty of male characters in there too. I don't understand what is wrong with people.
At the end of the day, Star Wars is more or less aimed at the young. George Lucas himself said that it was originally intended for children, so seeing grown men get all "hurr durr, there's women in it" makes me roll my eyes.
I don't like Rose... she's a terrible character and the chemistry between her and Finn just isn't there... but beyond the terrible writing behind her, I don't get the outrage.

What an utterly disappointing trailer. SW books have thousands of years of history between them, but when it comes to movies it's always the same 10-12 characters being recycled into oblivion. I thought that copying the Death Star plot from the previous movies was the pinnacle of lazy writing but bringing back a dead character out of nowhere is something else.

Star wars now resembles every other disposable SFX movie. It has certainly lost what made it special (whatever that was). Today it just seems to be yet another another series that people just watch when it's new, and then promptly forget about it.
Most of the popular merchandise seems to be from the original too. For every Rey product I see, I still see 20 darth vader products.
