Is it just me, or is Spacecom no longer available for FREE in the Slayer bundle? I don't even see it listed. (And Mooseman is sold out also)

A whopping three giveaways (and some high-level locked one, which is pointless to count, since 25 entries is practically insider trading) in the past week and one of them turned out to be fake, another was posted by someone who registered on the site 2 picoseconds before posting it.

Long shot, but it's currently bundled with a new AMD graphics card (together with Assassin's Creed Odyssey and Star Control Origins). I also recall seeing one on the community train. Probably disregard if you don't see any gibs for Star Control, though as the lack of gibs for the latter likely debunks this theory.

Apparently the game is going free-to-play on the 26th September so I'm not sure there is anything to be gained by entering giveaways for that one...

I honestly don't know - I noticed it was going F2P but I did say I wasn't sure what there might be to be gained! There are apparently going to be in-game purchases and there is a founders edition. I hadn't thought about what card drops might be linked to, to be fair I hadn't much thought about people entering giveaways just for cards at all...

You would only get cards for a game if you have a key activated for that game as, with the extremely rare exception, free games don't ever drop cards. Instead, Free-to-Play configured games give a card per $9 spent and I believe Free configured games give cards as soon as you purchase any Steam DLC for them.
I wasn't sure what there might be to be gained!
There's also +1 to library (and thus also to account XP); Putting aside that superficial gain and trading cards, there's also the benefit that key-activations allow free games to remain in your library while not installed, making them easier to keep track of. This is the element which I personally find most notable.

To be truthful, what I was actually thinking was;
'Of course, how foolish of me. I had been in the garden feeding the birds and waving at Mr Squirrel and I didn't have my cynicism setting turned up high enough for Steamgifts. Obviously people are grabbing free keys and making giveaways in the hope of gaining CV with which to win other games that they will never play and obviously many other people are entering giveaways for a game that they can have the same gameplay experience of in a few days for free anyway simply because they are bots or because of a meaningless +1 or more likely because of card drops that can be traded and sold to acquire a handful of cheap game shaped objects from shady devs that can be farmed for CV that can be used to win actual games that the winners will be too busy farming cards to play, thus perpetuating an endless cycle of acquisition that is no longer about gaming but a horrific parasite spreading through the guts of gaming and starving it of precious nutrients.'
But I was trying to be polite because steveywonder75 has always seemed nice and because I feel I have certain standards to maintain now that I am a landowner.

I often share my inner voice when inappropriate, I'm sometimes abusive and I occasionally break the steam gifts fourth wall. At best I consider myself to be the less lovable Deadpool of the website, or even a far less eloquent Spider Jerusalem. It isn't actually anything to be proud of or admire.
