So I've always started on the final page and then browsed through the gift listings in reverse. However now I see that that option appears to be gone which is something I've found actually really bothers me. Which made me curious...were there others out there like me? Or did everyone simply browse from page 1 until they ran out of points? So I made a poll to find out.

How do/did you browse Steamgifts?

View Results
Started at the back and browsed in reverse
Started at the front and browsed through normally
Just search for a couple of wishlist games to spend points on and then get over other points
Load all gifts I might want to enter into tabs to make sure my limited points only go towards the games I most want rather than the also-rans
Other?

I look under new and look how old they are in term of creation normally. If there is a load of the same game i want ( last remember me)
I look first for all the copies that are to end within the next 12 hours and if there are points left in other games. Look 2 times a day if it does not become more so quit a good strategy i think :)

edit: for the first time: FIRST!

But that means you miss out on older games you didn't have points for?

Dont think i get the question right.

But I like the game remember me I really want it (also have it on wishilist). I focus my points first on those that end the first 12 hours maybe less depending how much time i have in the time after entering to switchout points. And then what is left in the other games that seem to be fun. (requirment that i will play them, not just hoard them).

So sometimes it is that i dont have enough points to enter everything i wish to enter, but that is life XD
Another thing I focus on is that within the timeframe i said that i enter first the GA with an Lvl as high as possible because win chances there are higher.

and another thing if something happens like remember me, im much stricter with the leftover points that i have. Im then going to compare the games ( all opened in tabs) and look at the fact how much i the game want that are opened in the tabs, so if im unlucky there are games i have to let go.

I use the wishlist filter and enter any giveaways that are ending in the near future. If I still have points left over I check the main page to see if anything of interest is there. Then it's on to the forum.

Thanks to the filtering, the complete list I see currently is 26 items. On top of that, all entered ones are hidden, and I have endless scrolling. So… well, I glance at the single page of GAs I see, and that's it.

I primarly use wishlist tab and sometimes group tab. Rarely I notice something on main page that looks interesting.

Wishlist section, then Group section, then All section. Then some daily forum browsing, looking for trains, deals, free games, interesting topics.. rinse and repeat.

Sometimes even posting on forums, although it's not happening every hour i come to visit... no i'm not addicted...

I usually only look at the first front page to enter any GAs, because that covers the next 12-24 hours usually.
then check my group GAs, then in to the forums.

My use has changed as I have got used to how SG works. Now I check for wishlisted games, then group games, then discussion posts and finally games that are about to finish (All) . I might page through a few times. When I first joined I tried to ensure I used up my points so I never reached 300 but as my library has grown its not really possible and my backlog is enough that I only really try and win games that will jump to the top of the queue for playing ..

I just stay under wishlist and refresh periodically, and glance at active discussions from time to time.

Glance at the giveaways ending soon to see if there's anything interesting, then switch to whitelist view. Sometimes (rarely) I switch to Groups view. I use filtering heavily, though I'm not as thorough as people like talgaby, so the giveaways ending soon usually doesn't include too many games I'm not interested in.

I don't normally consume more than 50 points and it's been a long time since I ran out of points, so not worried about that.

I use Giveaway filter to only show GAs that are lvl 5-10 or group/whitelist/regional and to hide GAs I've already entered. I usually load New GAs every now and then when I'm online to check all newly created fitting criteria above and to decide what to enter. If I'm offline for longer time I wil scroll through All GAs (with filters ofc) to check what I maybe missed with New from page 1 to last page and go back to using "New" again.
