I usually have some gaming friends hang out online, but they all either seem busy or not interested in replying. I have some games I can play, or we can just hang out in Discord or TS; I don't care. Just not really wanting to be alone on my birthday.

Adults only, please. If you're still someone else's kid and I'm 40, that's too weird for me.

Congratulations in advance. I'd offer to hang out on discord but I'm socially awkward, and rarely speak much even in person so you wouldn't find me any good company. I'm sure there are a lot of socially adept people here though. :)

I just turned 43, so it would be a little weird chatting online with someone as young as you are.

(I won't have time to play games or anything tomorrow, but happy birthday anyway!)

Oh, I meant physical health primarily.
Fitness etc, the time to actually do sports when you're working all day and such. You can work physically all day long but that doesn't mean you're "fit"

When in your thirties you feel crap sometimes, and imagine how it would even be when you're 60 or 80. >.<

Well I am getting there. :x Do you smoke or drink?
Don't smoke but just the drinking alone made me feel even more crap in the end (kinda hoped if i stopped completely it would get better health wise but not as much as i hoped).

I smoke a few a day but hardly drink.
Maybe 5 liters of beer per year, only at birthdays :D

At 77 the backache my father had throughout his life went away. Also when he started needing reading glasses his nearsightedness went away. But unfortunately he's an exception (didn't happen to me, I need glasses for both ranges).

It's all downhill from 6. You go to school, then some higher education, then a job, raise a family and have to deal with the little brats you have to force to go to school, so then can go on to higher education, get a job and raise the next generation of little brats.

My girlfriend is across the state and can't make it in time for my birthday, sadly. I just moved to this neighborhood, but so far I haven't seen anyone other than hard-working family people with big trucks, so friend-making hasn't been going well.

Happy birthday! I just turned 40 last year but in my mind I still feel like a teenager. My body? Now that's a different story...

I can't help chuckling at this. Isn't it surprising when you try to do stuff you used to have no trouble doing and it's not working out anymore? :P

I certainly wish I could go back in time and establish some healthier habits when I was younger and didn't need to worry about it.

Let this be a cautionary tale to you young'ins out there. :P

Sadly it doesn't work with cautionary tales, however grim. I remember faintly being invincible :P

Edit: But damn how sweet wouldn't it be to have known everything you do now when you were a teenager :)

If I could go back in time and talk to myself I'd say something like:

  • Study harder.
  • Eat better.
  • Exercise more.
  • Listen to your elders.
  • Learn from other peoples' mistakes.
  • Don't worry about what other people think about you. They don't think about you.
  • Be more confident and less afraid.
  • The world is not black and white, life happens in the grey areas.
  • Don't overthink things, just relax.

In fact I should probably take some of this advice myself even today...

'Don't worry about what other people think about you. They don't think about you.'

Now THAT'S a good one!

'Don't overthink things, just relax.'

And that's just me most of the time... (the overthinking part, not the relaxing part).
