Ok here's the deal, I want a good gaming laptop and my friends dad is a pc expert and can custom build me one and give me a discount its just I don't know if it is good for all the new games/ones coming out. So here are the specs

1.5 TB HDD with 7200rpm
Intel core i7 (3.3 GHZ/8 core) plus hyperthreading up to 16 cores
6GB ram
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M with 1GB DDR5
And a good battery which will last 6 hours of intensive gaming

Can you rate this laptop out of 10 and say some good games which it will run and if it will be good for the future
also if you want, recommend some laptops which are good for gaming if they are better than this one for max 1000£

Thanks for any help I appreciate it :D

2/10 would not bang

Should have got a GTX gpu instead. much better. GT's can play games well on medium settings, but if you want to play on the highest graphics you need a GTX

A GT 540M?

What.

It can run games... But it wont be all too pretty.

GT 540M

Try checking around for European Clevo resellers. If not, well, post whatever you can find with its price.

Here is a nice Laptop GPU comparison chart:

And if You want something suitable for gaming and also quite cheap, check this one:
Lenovo Y580

The one You wrote about is not for gaming, unless You can change GPU for something at least like GTX660M.

To be fair, my mother told me that her new work laptop also has an i7, but it's with Windows XP and only 3 GB RAM, I think.
