It used to be common, for example when you bought a humble bundle, you could redeem the game to the linked steam account or create a giftlink (it was not possible to reveal the key). Then came a day when Valve disabled it, but afterwards it could still be seen in big studio's giveaways, like Starbreeze or Bandai Namco. Well, and SEGA. Now that I think of it, SCS also distributes event rewards this way and they are not that big (but definitely popular).

I believe Io interactive also used this - or a form of it - when they were doing the entitlements to transfer content from Hitman 1+2 into 3.

It's SEGA lmao PS I think It's more of a what's your steam ID so we can put the game in your library other than link your account to our platform (which if i remember correctly this isn't really a platform, just a website they made for their 60th anniversary) but I can see where you're coming from.

So this is a pretty old giveaway for a pretty old game that maybe not a lot of new-comers know about Including myself. I only found out about it a few months ago and thought It expired after following the steps and ultimately got an error. But, turns out the giveaway is still valid if you're able to resolve the error, and I'm here to tell you how to do that. It's pretty simple.
http://localhost:3000in the URL withhttps://www.sega60th.com, press enter, and voila, you now have NiGHTS Into Dreams in your steam library.
The game does add a +1 to your game collector badge if you're interested in that but It's a pretty cool classic game in the end.
