I've founded a group and curator that is looking for intriguing games you might not know about. I didn't add anything there for a couple of months and still – there is a constant flow of new followers. The group gained ~100 new users despite being inactive for such a long time. It seems to me that people are fond of a project like that and it struck me that it would be a shame if it would just die. Therefore I am looking for 2-3 review writers to revive this project.
What you might expect from participating in it?
– At this point we don't review games per se, we just put in the spotlight games that have something intriguing in them: be it artstyle, gameplay, artistic values, an idea behind it etc. Therefore we only create informational reviews.
– In the future I consider also regular reviews. It depends on how the group will develop.
– Due to not doing real reviews I've never accepted any free games from developers even though there were a few occassions. I don't mind if you'd take it though. The only condition I have is to inform the developer that we won't give them up- or downvote (at this point). We can only include their game on our list if we'll consider it fitting our recommendation philosophy.
– We want to support developers who love their games, who want to produce something unique and aren't afraid of taking the risks.
– We write really short reviews. 200 characters long at most (that's exactly how many signs curator page allows). Reviews are supposed to tell what made us intrigued by these games, what do we love about them.
– It was my very personal list and I'd like to at least have a control of what is published there. It means I will assign you games to review and take your advices and recommendations on what to review as well. In other words, I'd just like to have a final word to maintain our review philosophy.
– I'd like to have 2-3 reviews a week.
– We do not create giveaways in this group.
– We don't take recommendations from fans because I'm afraid it will end up with chaos. I don't like the idea of 300 people adding 30 game recommendations in a single post. Every day. It should be an exciting discovery, not a boring scrolling through thausands of games. And we should last for a long time, not give everything at once. For these reasons the comments in the group are disabled.
I didn't include the name of the group or curator on purpose, sorry for that. I am just afraid it would be considered as advertising.
If you are interested in joining this project, let me know in the comments!
