There are 100's of games out there that are full of zombies, kill zombies, plants and zombies, driving zombies, space zombies.
Speaking for myself, I just hate all those games with zombies, I never played any zombie game, and will not (in the near and far future).

what about you?

Very few of these "zombie" games, can actually counts as "real" zombie game.
And i think zombies already losing popularity, so i wont see "perfect" zombie game anytime soon.

This. An article I wrote for my blog sums up my problem with zombies. In short, they're an irrational fear, and the article suggests a more realistic one: nuclear winter.

That said, if someone wants to make a zombie game RIGHT, I'm down. That is, a zombie outbreak happens, and you have to last all summer, into the winter. Basically, a whole year. That's the amount of time I give zombies. After a year, their bodies break down and they're useless. Because if zombies are as irrational as nearly every game and movie portrays them, they're unbeatable. There are a lot of unfair situations in real life, but if a movie or game is that hopeless, why bother?

There's a game coming out, I think it was on Kickstarter, you have to go out and find materials, board up your shelter, and survive the night, then repeat. Kind of like the basic premise of Minecraft if you think about it. But it takes place in a big city, and uses realistic graphics. Dead something or something Dead I believe. I know one of y'all know what I'm talking about. I'd play that if it had a win condition for the humans.

At the beginning, zombie games were awesome, now they are overused and overrated, DayZ was kinda-almost-not-so-cool... Then WarZ, State of Decay, and other shitties... I mean: Depending on the style, it is cool, but there are only the same kind of game... I saw a Strategy survival game, not sure if Zombie or not, it was just awesome, you could put structures ANYWHERE, it was Online, in a Country, I guess... Really awesome game, vision from top, just great... Zombie games are good, zombie games' copies aren't cool.

played The Walking Dead (Telltale) - it's awesome

played Dead Island games - they are alright

played State of Decay - it's pretty damn fun

Red Nation - again, pretty damn fun

I think people complaining about too much zombie games never even play any of those games, so why complain?

sometimes, i think, developers develop a game and then see "OH! our Artifical Intelligence is pretty damn bad!". Then they just say "Zombie" game and sell it.
But I like the zombie games from the devs who intend to do a zombie game.

My relation to zombies? I have one on my father's side. Distant relation. He's shunned by the family, so we don't get to meet him, though the kids think he's cool.

I don't like zombies as a theme, and they tend to put me off games, but Plants vs. Zombies is cool, and I enjoy watching the Resident Evil movies, and Shaun of the Dead was a hoot.

I'm guessing my close relation with zombie movies and books (specially old ones) is what made me kinda hate the "zombie genre" that is seen nowadays, it almost became a really, really bad cliche for me at this point.

I still enjoy Left 4 Dead though, because of the teamplay factor and strategy involved, specially in Versus, but i see no appeal to the concept of "survival with zombies", it just got overused to me.
