Just made my first purchase on GOG [GA]

same, mainly going with Steam because of cheaper region prices. our falling currency does not help. if GoG has regional prices like Steam i would be buying exclusively there since it is DRM free, plus GoG has the games Steam does not have.

I love GOG and the games there, already bought dozens (Few I had boxed, few I really should play), but haven't played any in a long time - probably because of the friends and chat on Steam :|

If I had other methods of paying other than the Steam Wallet, I would use GOG for sure as they have a LOT of older games (particularly RPGs) that aren't on Steam.

Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 rock, so we are in total agreement about that.;)

The one thing I really dislike about GOG is, that it feels like there's Witcher everywhere.

When there's a sale, there's always some part of the Witcher franchise on top, when there's something on connect, it usually includes the Witcher, in their newsletter it's all about the Witcher. Oh, by the way, don't you want to buy the Witcher 3?

Yes, I know, that they're part of CDProject, that they're just trying to promote their stuff and it's probably cool if you're interested in the Witcher, but I freaking hate the Witcher. Technically and story wise it may be a nice game, I even like the genre, but still: one free weekend on Steam was was enough for me to find out, it's totally not my thing and that I just can't stand the protagonist and don't like the gameplay, no matter how well it may be done. At least on Steam I can check that box saying "not interested" and they don't bother me with it anymore.

Apart from that, I like the GOG philosophy, I bought something once, but there's not too many games left that I really want and I have so many on Steam already. Also their prices are often a bit steep, especially for the really old games, even when they're on sale, which may be fine when you're totally in love with some classic. In my case though, I don't even have time to play most of my games anyway, so if I'd be something out of nostalgia, it's gotta be cheap.

Surprised Uplay has a bigger fanbase than Origin tbh

I've purchased some games on GOG which are not available on Steam, but I tend to keep forgetting that GOG exists and that I have a library of games there. If GOG provided Steam keys with their purchase as well as (not instead of*) the DRM free files, I would purchase a heck of a lot more from them.

*One of the core values of GOG is that they provide DRM free games, I'm not suggesting that they drop this core value, but rather that adding Steam keys as an option on top of that would go a long way to increasing the value proposition.
