I intend on buying them all when I have the money.

Regardless of expansions, who buys the Sims and isnt a 14 year old girl?

A lot of people actually. Sims its not really bad, its actually quite fun. Only things that sucks its the hundred of expansions.

The Sims -games are pretty addictive, and many adults play them too (including myself). You can spend hours making you own Sims and building their city, and directing their life in the direction you want. The best thing about The Sims in my opinion is the freedom: you can do pretty much anything with your Sims, especially if you have some great mods :)

What a rip off...I won't hate the game, if your into that stuff, it's actually quite good, but this is just madness

I just bought the base game and the Pets expansion as a Christmas present for myself. I think that's enough for one time, I might buy more packs of they're on a good sale again. I don't think anybody would be crazy and rich enough to buy The Sims 3 and all of the expansion pack at once, at least I've never heard anyone do such a thing :/

Yeah, this is what I've been doing. I bought the base game about a year ago, and I've been picking up a piece or two of DLC every time it's gone on sale.

Not buying the sims 3 because its really a ripoff not only a ton of dlc that are expensive, you also have to pay for some things in game if you want them. And even if i did buy sims 3 it would be a waste since i basically only like building houses and putting furniture in them and that last just for a few hours.

Just traded for that one with an Australian friend (they get it for $2.19 on the current sale)
Heading for bed now but I will try that over the weekend.

Its a good game and a fresh experience in the sims universe. The "needs" and their micro-management are almost erased here(you only have hunger and energy to manage) and the games is more focused in quests :)

Man, screw this. I gave away the only copy I have here.

It's the best selling game in the world. There are alot of people playing it especially women.

I'm talking about PC games. Not consoles.
I'm not sure if COD games have overtaken Sims already.

I see. The way you worded it suggested otherwise.
Strictly PC, The Sims 2 has been the best selling game. The Sims 3 is way down the list, below the likes of Half-Life 2, L4D series, StarCraft and Diablo III. CoD games don't sell too well on PC.
