I personally do not but have heard the story often enough in doing support as well. Most commonly it happens with minors and they share with parents or siblings because they were not old enough to have their own at the time of creating the account. Now considering I used to work for a gaming company, I can believe it because we would get some pretty young kids and I usually was speaking with the parent, often the parent not pleased that their kid went in and bought stuff without permission.
What I don't get are the people who had a friend/cousin/sibling/whatever create their account and didn't bother to put in their own correct information on it later and then blame us when they forget the password and cannot recover it any longer.

I don't think I've ever shared an account for anything, let alone an email account. I wouldn't even trust my family with such details.

Not really fake, as my fiancee play mostly on her computer in Offline mode so I could play online and chat :> So her playtimes/achievments don't get updated ;p
Sometimes it's the opposite (for example she's playing a game that requires internet connection)) - and then also are some "bugs" in my playtimes/achievments ;p Missing Achiv from beating stage 4 and got achiv from stage 5 etc ;p

jatan - our University back then had their own mailing system (which was horrible by the way) and it wasn't supporting mailing lists. Well it wasn't supporting a lot of things actually (incl. sending/receiving mails to/from non-university adresses) Plus for first year we had often problems with some student's not getting for example email "Tommorow Exam changed place, it will be in room XYZ instead".

As per email accounts actually in use and not the ones Steam or anything is registered on (who honestly uses the address associated with their Steam account for any other purpose whatsoever? first the security issues, and second, you don't want a mess there, don't you?), my Wife and I do share. It's perfectly normal and convenient from our point of view.

Yep, it's kind of pointless at this point of time to share an email or even a Steam account.
Stupid people. I could believe that in a strange family the parents might want to keep a "peer review" going on with a shared email or very poor kids might share a Steam account ( actually I did play a lot of TF2 on my brother's account and he played GTA4 on my account, a long time a go... )

yes with my fiancee for online shopping sites and stuff instead of making 2 accounts for online shopping but other than that we have our own personal accounts

Well, you answered for me.
Instead of 1 mail for 2, I'm at 4 mail for 1.

Ditto. I have one main e-mail, one e-mail for my Xbox account, one e-mail for SG and one alt account for private use.

Okay, seriously. Who honestly, genuinely, shares an e-mail account with anyone any more? With Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, whatever, there's a thousand free e-mail account services for the taking? So unless it's for a joint account of somewhere, who honestly shares their e-mail account with anyone? I sure as hell wouldn't, I've got plenty of private stuff on there, like I'm sure everyone does to some extent. It'd make PayPal only useable by one person too. But if support tickets are to be believed, half of you share accounts with your brother. Even the ones who don't have a brother. And you name your accounts along the lines of "thejadefalcon" and the "thejadefalconn".
So, does anyone do this? Has anyone ever done it?
P.S. I already know the answer is "Man, those guys are stupid to use that excuse, moreso if it's actually true."
