I do this.

Using the open internet (used BBS's before that) since 96 (I was 12 then); everyone in my family had their own email addresses.
Even my younger brother got his own when he was 6 or 7 years old; 1998~99 I think

I have a shared e-mail with a friend (for games). We both use it for joining/signing up for things so it has a lot of spam. We created 2-3 different emails for that purpose. Naturally we both also have our own private emails, I use 3 different email providers (Yahoo, Gmail, and Hotmail). I use each for a different purpose, and I switch around their purposes sometimes if I'm bored.

I have shared an email before though if that is what you meant. I also shared a MMO account before as well. And I also share a PSN account with my brother.

My parents used to share an email account years ago, but when they changed providers they each got their own. (And now when I write them I'm never sure on what account I should send stuff.) Personally, I've never shared an account with anyone.

There is a very simple answer for this. People from the olden days who have NO idea how internet works.

I don't share emails...But I do have like 50 email accounts, 43 of which I don't even remember anymore...

And before people ask, I used to take advantage of the 1 month free offer from Netflix. And by take advantage, I meant make a new email every month, deactivated old Netflix account, and make a new one to get a free month, rinse and repeat. It had gone on for a long time before my parents told me to stop and just take the monthly charges which isn't all that much.
