evaluate on a scale my new pc

So, i got work, saved some cash and decided to buy the new one, since my nerves are not steel and they just gived up
That's what i almost got (just need to wait a bit, until my friend build it)

Question is: will i be able to run all newest games? what about high quality of graphics?
P.S. Don't have enough cash to get i7 or smth like that, price of all of this is $700, don't have more)

4 GB RAM? WAT? I got almost 4 year old computer with 4GB DDR2 and you know what? It's not enough to play new games! Windows 7 64bit + Firefox and couple other important apps + Battlefield 3 = freezes after some time. DDR3 is cheap, so just buy another 4GB, but not with high frequency.

500GB HDD? I got 640GB + 40GB - it's full.

Also I would get a video card with more RAM if I wanted to have a computer for couple years.

I don't know CPU.

Not sayin' it's bad.

No game really uses over 4gb of ram(Crysis 2 with high rez textures being the exception), I only hit 6ish when I have tons of crap running. Plus why run other apps when gaming? Its not that hard to close out of things. Its probably not the lack of ram thats making things freeze for you.

500gb is also fine for most people, the ram on his GPU is fine at the resolution he is playing at...not sure why he would need more...that also is a tad silly, people playing at above 1080p might benefit from more gpu ram. He is playing at a sub 1080p resolution.

  1. Windows 7 64bit uses almost 2 GB just after start. To play Battlefield 3 (<2 GB RAM) you need open Battlelog site (Firefox ~200-250 MB) - you can close it, but what's the point of that, if you are buying NEW PC. Same with other apps (Rainmeter, Fences, jabber, Dropbox, Origin etc.) - if I had to close them every time I play, this would mean that PC is too weak and I should start thinking of buying a new one. I used to run this system on 2 GB RAM and it was pretty smooth (800 MB on system, the rest in SWAP). But now when Windows is forced to free some RAM, it starts freezing due to slow HDDs.
  2. Yes, he can play with 1 GB video RAM now, but what will be after 3 years? It really depends ONLY at the resolution?

1.Windows 7 only uses that memory on start for quick access to programs(Also why boot up takes so long usually), it frees it when its needed, I recently had a computer that only had 2gb of ram, had a game using 1.9 of it on windows 7, explain that. You are misinformed, what you speak of is superfetch and its a good thing, any hard drive now can handle it here

From the article: When people look at the Task Manager, and they see the figure for "Cached" compared to the number of "Free", people assume that only very little of their memory is available for the applications they are about to launch. What they forget is that the Cache filled by SuperFetch and the standard caching mechanism runs on a lower priority; in other words, memory requests by applications will always supersede SuperFetch.

In other words, whatever you see in the "Cached" figure is actually accessible to applications.

2.Pretty much, least for a couple years he will be golden with that memory, even at 1080p, I would say 3-4 years, by that time he will wanna upgrade anyways.

I don't mean to sound harsh but its kinda annoying to see a bunch of people saying what he bought isn't good enough, its a downer especially when what he got is very good actually, not many people need more then 4gb at the moment(Crysis 2 being a big exception and even then its not really really needed), games dont use 4gb for the most part, most are limited by 2-3gb actually.

i got 2x ram cards). so 8 is enough.
HDD is cost a lot and after my last hdd with 150gb this is more then enough).

You'll be able to run pretty much all new games and upcoming games. Whether or not it can run highest graphics depends on the game. It should be able to run most current and previous games on medium and high but with graphics always getting better, the future might not look to good. I would get more than 4gb of ram though. I suggest get two sticks of 4gb ram so you can have 8 total. Other than that, it should be fine. You probably don't need so many coolers though, just 1 would be enough, especially if your case has any built in fans. Then it would be better to just get the cooler for the cpu but you probably don't even need that.

You just kidding, right? I only have Intel Core i3 and Radeon HD 6750 and I can run newest games with high details. ;-D

People over exaggerate, I run most games on max, some on high with a Q6600 and a gtx460 still at my native resolution of 1680x1050...

He will run them better then me on this machine for sure.

Change the processor to a i5 2500k, and see if you can get a Z68 mobo, its basically the same price as a P67, but with a Z68 you save more energy/do the same as having a P/H series mobo combined.
Other than that its good, and for 'wtfs' add 4GB extra memory so you can run anything while multitasking.

You could probably run most games fairly well at 1920x1080 resolutions. Some know heavy games like Metro 2033, Witcher 2, Battlefield 3 and what not would probably run well, but without all max settings.
You should be fine for a couple of years I think.
