So, I am aware that if a person residing in Europe would like to partake in the Amazon Summer Sale they can simply set their default address to a USA one and using a EU issued credit card shouldn't be a problem to get them tasty digital game deals.
Since I am originally an American now living abroad (Italy), the US address is no problem for me, and I'm an adult (though some may argue the fact) so, valid credit card is a check. Question is, I had read in a couple shitty sources that when a few people bought a Steam Key through Amazon USA in Europe, everything went fine on Amazon's end, but then they went to activate the keys on Steam there were region locking problems. I really can't tell if these people are just braindead, from one of the more restrictive countries, or what. Any which way, I'm a little paranoid to drop the cash (spendable income is tight at the moment) and then get screwed out of a great deal.
So, I'm curious if anyone from EU has bought the bundle I'm interested in, The Firaxis Bundle, and could verify that the keys they give you do, in fact, work from a location based in EU.
Also, if my impatience does get the best of me, do you think a VPN would let me activate the keys if their is a problem?

Thanks to you sexy beasts in advance for the help.

I got SimCity, BF3 Premium, and a heap of other bundle games from Amazon and I've never even been to the US. Some games may be region locked, but, it is a very rare occasion. If they are, just use a VPN.

I bought Darksouls from Amazon and it worked perfectly (i'm from Bulgaria). Before you buy a game just search a bit if there are region locked versions. And dont use support for anything :D, they will see that you are buying from Europe and wont help you.

I have bought a ton of games from Amazon. Every single one activated for me.

Thanks for the replys. I just went to go buy it, and what do you know, the deal is over. Fuck me, right! Since the event ran until the 14th of July, I assumed that is when I had time to buy it until since they didn't put a final day on the deal anywhere on the page. I am disappoint. Well, here's to hoping Steam launches the SSS sometime this summer and runs the same Firaxis deal. Civ 5, Civ 4, and X-Com for $20 is one hell of a deal and I really hope they match it.
