I don't know what next year will bring but I hope it is more in the happy moments than sad
My precise mindset. I usually get gloomy on new years eve but i hold on to this exact tought- even when things are bad doesnt mean they will stay bad. we can and should hope for the better, wich for me is the spirit of the occasion

Happy new year to you as well wiggle and everyone else here. I'll say that when I came back to SG earlier this year after a decade or so long hiatus, didn't think the community would be the strongest part of this site.

After having been wished 20 years of a happy new year where little was happy i kinda started to hate it (just like birthdays) guess i got cynical, and even told a friend to skip me with the wishes (which turned into an arguement).

But for whatever it counts to someone happy 2025.

Not a big one for new years myself, in my experience it's just an excuse for a massive booze up, grossly expensive fireworks displays (after a year of being told there's no money for anything else 🙄), hilariously unrealistic resolutions and generally saying & behaving in ways you instantly regret the next day. Still I get time and a half for working new years day and the abominable sh*ts customers are generally too hung over to cause problems, so 🤷‍♂️.

So as the little ray of sunshine that I am, I do hope you and everyone has a safe new years at least and hope that the forthcoming year is better for all of us and we get a bit of good fortune on our side, just like I said last year an-........👀.........😳........sigh, that turned out well. Hell's let's be more realistic, how about we move in from staring at the bottom of the barrel and we'll call it an achievement. 👍
