These awesome games are not presented on Steam, but they are worth buying on GOG:

quite a few titles published by gog themselves worth a look (depending on your preferences). highly unlikely they will appear on any other service.

I love Project Eden, which never made it to Steam.

I actually finished it, and for me - well, it says a lot about how much I enjoyed it. The end wasn't my favorite part, but it kept me going all the way through.

finished it a good few times on ps2 - and agree. up until that point it was brilliant.
i can only figure because of that, i find the pc controls very weird - plus a dose of familiarity i suppose.
Edit: actually, i might give it another go over the weekend as im in gaming limbo right now

The original Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers! I've heard it's much better than the 20th Anniversary Edition available on Steam.

Oh, rats. It wasn't when I first got it. Thanks for the correction!

I'm not sure how many of these are, but these are some great oldies:
Anachronox (Cyberpunk RPG with ATB)
Dragonsphere (Point-and-Click Adventure with some really unique Fantasy elements)
Heroes of Might and Magic 1-3 (Turn-Based Strategy, a genre that I usually can't stand, but I like these)
I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream (Point-and-Click Adventure based on the short story by Harlan Ellison)
Jill of the Jungle (Platformer that's a little clunky, but it works together very well)
King's Quest (Point-and-Click Adventure; all of them are great, but you might want a walkthrough)
Legend of Kyrandia 1 & 2 (Point-and-Click Adventures with interesting mechanics and great characters; 3 was... not great)
Lost Eden (FMV Point-and-Click Adventure with some interesting systems at work)
Nox (A bit like Diablo, but with better combat; you actually have to think about what you're doing)
Planescape Torment (WRPG that allows many solutions to most situations; combat is almost never mandatory)
STALKER (Open world First-Person Shooter with some really bizarre occurrences)
Sacred (Like Diablo, but open world, and with 8 playable characters; the world, itself, is an absolute joy to explore)
Sanitarium (Point-and-Click Adventure that dives into the character's mind for most of its areas)
Septerra Core (Western-made JRPG with a great cast, very unique lore, and an ATB system)
Turok 1 & 2 (Not terribly popular, but I think they have interesting level design and awesome weapons)
Debatably old games that are worthwhile include:
Blackwell Chronicles (Point-and-Click Adventures about helping ghosts move on; all 5 are great)
Edna & Harvey (2 Point-and-Click Adventures with a warped sense of humor)
Kathy Rain (Point-and-Click Adventure starring a sassy biker chick; she's so cool!)
Layers of Fear (Sometimes called a Walking Simulator, but there's a little more to it than that; great psychological horror)
Painkiller Black (First-Person Shooter with some really over-the-top weapons)
I have tons of others that I haven't played yet, but I've finished each of these and will gladly vouch for them.

Hello everyone, I have a big Steam library but we all know this is never enough. Recently i bought Heroes III Complete edition on GOG, because the HD edition steam provides sucks big time (they don't include the dlcs since they lost the source). GOG used to be only for "old games" but not anymore, the old gems are flooded behind recent drm free releases so.... Here is my question :
Can you recommend OLD gems that aren't on Steam already?
For now i already have:
Please give me good reasons to spend the rest of my eurobucks on GOG :)
Thanks!
