It still happens. A friend yesterday had 4 dupes, in a game with 4 drops for that matter.

Thank you, that is good to hear. Still, the odds of that happening are creepy.

Yeah I am beginning to suspect it might be a glitch/bug that made it happen ( like steam showing all the offline friends as last online X minutes ago when I know a couple of them haven't logged in for months).

Next steam feature: Gaben's virtual turkey sandwich badge?

It's one thing getting them, it's another trying to sell them. I get all giddy when I get one then find nobody wants to buy it despite being the cheapest on the market for a week or two and selling for no more than the last one went for. Then you check back in another couple of weeks and see 5 people have all undercut you and they can't sell either. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I seem to have a hard time shifting my foils.

I have gotten one foil drop so far ( torchlight II) and it took me ages to sell it. A week or so, maybe more. I know how you feel.

Just Yesterday I played Battlepillars for the drop... it had 8 cards . I got doubles of two cards, triples of one, and then one lone card.

a Borderlands 2 card dropped 3 times so no, it's just as usual

Valve are always tweaking their algorithms.
I also wouldn't put it past them to switch it up to deliver a load of non-dupe cards, then switch it back, just to test how the market handles it.

I myself hv till now got 8 cards from a game that only drops only 4 cards. bt as i m new to steam i thought that maybe card drops increase as your play time increases on a game. but after reading all this i realize maybe it was just some random stuff

Ran Battlepillars in the early hours. Got 5 unique cards from the 8 drops, getting 3 of them twice each.
Like others have said I think you just got lucky.

I just noticed something strange the last few days and I thought I'd share. After the recent steam update (3 days ago or so?) I noticed that 3 of my previously played games now have card drops, so I reinstalled them ( as you do) to get the card drops. Usually in every game I get a duplicate that I sell but here is the thing: In all three games, I didn't get a single duplicate card. None at all.
I then installed a non-played game from my library and let it drop cards too, to the same result. No duplicates. Yesterday evening I had a magical diary booster pack that dropped on my inventory..with the exact three cards I was missing to craft the badge ( the game had 6 total). No duplicates at all.
Obviously I am only one person so I wanted to ask if anyone else noticed something strange in the behavior of card drops since the update?
If steam did indeed change its algorithm so that duplicates never drop on an account, people will either have to put more actual money into it or be forced to sell cards they already have - either way the prices will probably go up. If that is indeed the case, the plan is actually very sneaky and nefarious... but I would really hope it wasn't.
So, input, my dear SG friends? Clearly, this has to be tested further. For science! Thank you very much.
TL;DR: Suspicions that steam no longer drops duplicate cards. Confirm/debunk? Thanks.
