Let me put it this way.

If you want Story Rich awesome adventure game get Walking Dead.
If you want to mess around for hours with the item/char creator and complete the game with flying trexes that are on fire get Scribblenauts.

Both offer different gameplays that cant be compared so think about what type of game you want before buying one of them.
