razers and alienware are overhyped and overpriced brands. I'd recommend checking out other brands like ASUS, TOSHIBA, HP that has the same specs with the alienware product you are aiming for.
about the gamepad...it's a personal choice.
but for me...it's better to get a mechanical keyboard instead which is much more functional
try CM Quickfire TK. I'm using it.

I'm a portable gamer, but right now, im using a macbook pro 2011 (gift from friend). I'm thinking to get good gaming peripherals and laptop for the price of about 1000-3000 dollars for laptop and 500 dollars for the peripherals, I already have a razer naga molten (no problems, lucky) and a razer goliathus omega. I'm thinking on getting an alienware m17x and razer orbweaver. My friend (who gave me my macbook) is going to give me a razer tiamat 7.1 tommorow. Is this good or whats your recommendations
